My point about the bench yesterday

I went on radio stoke after the barnsley match -two points made

1) I could not understand those texting in saying we should be beating the likes of barnsley (always a difficult place for stoke to go) and they did well, to get a point.

2) Main point was about our bench though, my summary is we wont sustain a promotion push unless we stengthen, the bench says it all i.e.
Hoult = adequate
Zakuani = good cover BUT ON LOAN !
Pulis = perhaps the less said the better
Dickinson = Good cover
Parkin = will not tip the balance to ge tus into the premiership

and, with the goal shy but very effective (in other aspects) Sidibe Going to the african nations, we are still -VERY limited.

Perhaps Cresswell up front with Fuller would be a good option to try again, with Pugh pushed into midfield but again , our reliance upon loanees is our achilles heel.

AND, If anybody in the champoinship wanted to stop our run - just recall the loanees !! (yep its that fragile) !!!!

Summary: Loaness must be permanent but still, we would be lightweight squad wise, with at leat another central midifelder who can run and pass beyond our front two and crucially - like last season, a striker with a goal scoring pedigree is whats really needed (To assist Fuller) - perhaps even a better right back too if brutally honest (Wright isnt good enough).

lets see if we stuff it up this january (like last year)

but - incredible performances by the team and manager so far !!!!

I'm sure the Cort and Pugh (and Hill) deals are done and dusted, and Zakuani can't be recalled as he's on a season-long loan.

The only loanee with a question mark over him is Wright, and I don't think anyone would lose any sleep if he never played for us again.
