Couple of points on yesterday.
We had the potential to take all three points there I am certain of it. As stated on other threads the the last 2 goals were indeed Simmo's fault but what really concerned me was the lack of communication in the box that seemed to cause it. Simmo didn't seem to command the area well for a good period of the game. Now I aren't knocking the big man but surely its something Pulis has to work on and the body language of Simmo after the third said it all. He knew it was his fault.
A lot of people down the front were baying for his blood and calling him all the names under the sun which I thought was a bit unfair.
On a lighter note it was great to see us fill that away end and we did indeed make more noise than their fans. I was a bit shocked at the attendance as I thought more of them would be there. Indeed half the stand on the right appeared to be shut completely.
Filthy ground and one of the coldest sheds I have been on in years. I shall never moan about the Britt again as that place needed a mop and bucket ;D
Does anyone know when we last had the pleasure of 2 consecutive hat tricks in 2 games by a Stoke player combined with a shed load of penalties. Really exciting game and having a mental down the front when the last minute penalty went in was cracking. Police came from no where thinking there was going to be some kind of pitch invasion.
Anyway onwards and upwards as they say. Time to put that behind us and look forward to Plymouth and Hull for another potential 4 points at least.

yeah was defo one of the best atmospheres at an away game for a while, some of the delilahs were really loud and we hardly stopped singing.
I was also suprised at the crowd, boxing day usually dwells the crowd, considering we took i rekon at least 2k that means they only had just over 10k, and yeah there fans really did only ever sing when they were winning!

To be fair our whole defence was shaky the entire match so I was never that confident of 3 points despite us attacking so well in the 1st half. Shawcross in particular had a stinker. I can't remember the last time I have seen us lose so many headers. The Back four has been chopped and changed a whole lot this season by necessity, now i think TP is going to stick with what we've got for a while and the clean sheets will start coming in 2008 I hope.
Having said that, they have some really good attackers, Firenzi (sp) in particular was mighty impressive not to mention tall which was maybe the problem with the headers.

Sidibe seemed to not be able to get in there much either.

Its one of those things where there isn't a substantial replacement for him. Has Parkin got 45 minutes in him?

Would call Parkins fitness into question for a whole 45 surely. Usually always makes an appearance as a late substitute but still has some magic in him for a lad his size.
