Whingin' baggies have accused us of cynically playing on when one of their players was down hurt but they put the ball out when our player went down . Also yesterday in premier league on motd 2 derby defenders went down after collision but liverpool continued to attack. My point is haven't fa given directive this season, to stop cynical use of this tactic by teams, that it is up to ref to halt game if player is injured. Anybody???????

Correct. The ref will stop the game if he feels the injury is bad enough i.e head. If the players want to put the ball out then thats upto them. If they do I think the side taking the throw can just play on as normal and not have to throw it back to the oppo. But I have been wrong in the past. ;D

Getting the game stopped had become a virtual tactic for several clubs and has rightly been stopped.
It always amazed me that if a player from team A was injured but team A had the ball the game continued but as soon as team B got the ball the game was stopped! Surely the injured player should inconvenience his OWN team and not the opposition! Obviously head injuries or any horrendous injury should receive IMMIEDIATE attention.
