About an hour and half drive to Barnsley followed by another hour and a half back home, so you've given up from about 11'30 am to about 7pm and spent at least £30 on the match (travel and entrance fee) So why leave early?
Loads left when Barnsley got their third (still about three minutes of normal time plus we knew there'd be a good bit of injury time)
So with a good eight minutes of play left (almost 20% of the half!!!!) loads missed our fantastic comeback! I mean we'd already had two goals in the previous four minutes so why give up so easily?
I've never understood early leavers in ANY match but in a very tight ding dong battle like today was its mind blowing people can simply walk out!

Can't understand it myself. At the recent home game against Norwich, I noticed a couple near me who were late arriving, late getting back to their seats for the second-half, and left early, hence missing all 3 goals1

My dad told me that back in the 60s he would have to leave every game around 10 minutes early to catch a bus. It wasn't normally a problem, except one game where Stoke were losing 3-0 (against West Ham?) and came back to win 4-3! Mixed emotions for him when he heard it on the radio. Anyone remember that game (bearing in mind some of the facts may be wrong)?
EDIT: To be honest, it could have been in the 50s even, it might have ended 4-4 and it may not have been West Ham.
Any general late Stoke comebacks like that around then?
