Hmmm, The West Brom Rivals site and local media last week, the Barnsley official website this week...
It looks like Joseph Goebbels has gone freelance.

Bring it the fuck on I say! Davey has been whinging his gob off-only 4 minutes of added time should have been played-yes but when players stop ours from taking a penalty more time gets added on! PRICK!

You don't even have to have seen any of the match to see that that is an absurdly biased "report" (although I use the term report loosely).
Also, just for the benefit of any Barnsley fan perusing the board... 4 minutes of stoppage time means 4 minutes of the ball in play - it doesn't include the 1 minute it took for Barnsley to make a sub in the 4th minute of stoppage time, nor does it include time wasted by Barnsley waiting for a free kick then penalty.

How do they let a stark raving loony write the reports?

Also - Stoppage time means the minimum of the time calculated by the 4th official. The ref can add on as much as he sees fit for time-wasting, injuries, etc.

We all fully expected the whinging and tantrums that followed the West brom result, but for fuck's sake, this is supposed to be Yorkshire, where men are men and...err, so are the women.

A draw was a fair result, Davey doesn't mention that no way was their penalty a penalty does he?
The ref wasn't that bad today, Barnsley are just using that as an excuse for throwing away 3 points. The red card was fair, the bloke took Fuller out. Second yellow and he goes. Several times their defence went into rash challenges, they don't mention that do they?
I hope we go up so we really can stick two fingers up at the mardarses who think they can play like Brazil!

Sour grapes of the highest order. A draw was a fair result.
We put a few tackles in today granted, but every time Fuller got near the ball they attempted to kick him. The only reason he didn't get badly injured was that he was too quick for them to catch him.

Fuck me sideways, and I thought that report in the Birmingham Mail was a joke! It's hard to belief that grown-up, serious journalist is responsible for that steaming pile of shit.
I'd be thoroughly ashamed to put my name to that.
I actually thought it was a decent game and I'd give Barnsley a lot of credit for some of the football they played. However, they were responsible for some pretty cynical fouls, especially on Fuller, and they have a damned cheek for trying to paint Stoke as the badguys.
There's a bandwagon developing in the Championship at the moment, whereby teams kid themselves that they were bullied out of a game by thuggish Stoke. Long may it continue because deluded opponents are beatable opponents.

I agree 100% with Smudge.
On local radio (for barnsley that is) they were slagging us off as a bunch of thugs two hours BEFORE kick off! They simply gave themselves a bice easy ready made excuse. We gave as good as we got from a footballing point of view and on the cynical fouling they did lots more than us.
I do agree the ref gave some strange decisions I think ALL three penalties looked iffy but as for bullies I felt Barnsleys players were fouling lots more than we were and the red card (deserved imo) bears that out!

i'm getting the man utd feeling too - seems everyone is looking for excuses. I'm not a 100% fan of the way we play at times but at other times we do put together some nice football...like the free kick today for instance - any honest football follower would recognise that as being a piece of class.

i suppose the managers of other teams are telling their players on matchdays that they have to go out and match us physically, what they need to understand is that we have been doing it for a lot longer and therefore we are better at it than they are.. who had the most bookings yesterday?, barnsley fuck em all. stoke on the up, my beloved potters

We traveled up early yesterday and tuned into radio Sheffield ( Barnsley's that wank they haven't even got their own radio station) There was two reporters commenting on the local games when it was Stoke's turn some of the bile they spouted was unbelievable, Stoke are an ugly direct team, I'd hate to be a Stoke supporter watching that every week. Long may it continue. Come on Super tone and the boys keep ramming those comments down their throats.

Furthermore, have you noticed that another club has lost its nickname voluntarily like Southend? Barnsley are now 'The Reds'.

Are Southend no longer The Shrimpers then? What was Barnsley's old nickname? Apologies for my ignorance.

Southend tried to pass themselves off as 'The Blues' last season and so far as I can recall, aren't Barnsley 'The Tykes'?

Beagrie could also hardly contain his disappointment when we scored yesterday. Disgraceful bias by the media.
