Drop Sidibe?

I can the pros and cons for dropping Sidibe, And i personally think that Sidibe will be dropped after The African Cup of Nations. I think that Sidibe holds the ball up well and creates chances for the team. I think that he won't be dropped untill a good playmaking midfielder AND a winger are signed, whether these are Phillips and Whealan that remains to be seen

I thought Mama was great against West Brom, today sounded like a bad day for him though. He's so integral to the TP system that I don't see any way he'll be dropped but like No1 says, I wonder how that's going to look when he gets back from the African Nations, because we'll have to use find Plan B while he's away (which hopefully doesn't mean asking Beast to do what Mama does). If he'd just tipped in four or five goals this would feel so different.

because he aint offering the team anything, were playing with 10 men because the bloke is that bad, maybe a kick up the ass might change him, i.e start with fatty, or push cressy up front and put pught left wing, either way the bloke has got be dropped, fuller is a diamond but we cant rely just on him we need our other striker nip in with a few goals. 25 games no goals for a striker is simply pathetic.

kingdeano, you obviously have a poor knowledge of football if you cannot see Sidibe role in the team, his sheer presence on the pitch changes the way teams approach the game. when the ball is played long to him often too players mark him thus leaving them out of the game. When he drops deep a defender will follow him thus leaving him out of the game, when sidibe makes a run a defender/defenders will go with him creating a gap for players like Lawrence and Fuller to exploit!! Without him i think we would struggle to create chances thats why i think we need a good creative midfielder and pacy winger!

People suss Sidibe out because they know he is no threat in the area and his 'Excellent so called Hold up play' is not happening and he easy to play against!

Ive got to agree! I thought he was shit against Watford losing out on every header to O'toole.

Then against WBA he just seemed to plod around, while Lawrence chased every ball down and for a player with as little natural talent as Sidibe has you expect him to work his knackers off and earn his place in the team. But he wasn't even doing that!

Then from what Ive heard today he seems to be getting gradually worse!

King Deano i understand your point and as i said earlier there are pros and cons to Sidibe, and my point was that i would only drop sidibe once we have a creative midfielder and winger, then i would push Cresswell upfront i think other wise we would struggle to create chances

It's quite difficult to keep making a case for a striker who is still without a goal at the end of December!

I admire much of what Mamma brings to the team but it's quite a luxury to have someone occupying one of the two coveted striker's positions when they clearly don'thave a goal in them!

we have demar phillips apparantly playing out his skin, give him a go, hes raw and wants succeed, if fuller reckons hes a matchwinner thats good enough for me. fuller as shown that in this league defenders hate pace, well lets throw him in and see what he does. its a option, and a realistic one at the minute because we have got get our other striker chipping in with goals, even if its 5 its something

Cresswell out of position has scored more than Sidibe will in his career.so to have Sidibe in the team means others score but HE DOES NOT? Ok then what would we miss Sidibe with No goals but making a nuisance and encouraging the longball or Cresswell in place of him getting 10 to 15 goals and easing the pressure off Fuller?!

I have been saying for over a year that sidibe should not be in any team who have promotion aspirations, all this nonsense that he does this and that for the team is unfounded.
The fact is he cannot score, our defenders cause more threat in the opposition box than he does, ok he wins the odd header but he doesnt actually do anything with it. He is by far the weakest link in the team along with Delap at the moment but thankfully we have Diao to replace Delap and Hendrie to come in on the left alowing Cresswell to finally get a decent run up front.
