No chance, he'll probably go Reading or some other sub mid table prem club.

Don't tell TP there's a chance he might want to come...he'll be camping outside his house for the whole of January, pushing begging letters through his door. Would be a great signing, but there's no chance he'd want to come (until we go up anyway!) and he'd probably cost about £3 million.

He had his chance and he blew it!
Let's just move on now to players who would actually want to play for Stoke. I think we all know that his heart would never be in it.

We don't want to go back to chasing targets unlikely to join us. Its a waste of time.

£5m+ is the quoted price in the papers so forget it. That's just West Ham trying it on, or some hack journo pulling a number out of his arse! He's worth no more than £1.5M and if we bid that I reckon we stand a decent chance.

he's worth what someone will pay for him - maybe they wont get £5m but £1.5m wouldnt buy you an average striker from the premier league.
£5m for Chopra,£5m for Kenywnne Jones,£5m for Earnshaw,£3.5m for the scottish chap B'ham bought from Hibs e.t.c. e.t.c.
If there is no prem interest then Zamora's price will drop & I dont know what his contract situation is (other than he's on a boat load of ££££) but even Marlon Harewood went for over £3m & Zamora was above him in West Hams pecking order last year.

All fair comment your lordship. However, those other players you have quoted were all 'in demand', whereas Zamora is part of a well-publicised fire sale at Upton Park. Maybe £1.5M is too low but we had less than a million accepted before for the same player and if no one is really prepared to pay an inflated price then maybe we will be able to get him more cheaply than we might otherwise expect!?

Purely going by the highly reliable & never wrong/making it up transfer gossip columns in the Sunday papers & the like it seems to me probable that - as said above - Reading (or similair) will buy him.
TP has hopefully got some money,£millions even,to spend in Jan but Zamora for even £1.5m + insane wages/signing on fee's/agents fee's would surely consume most if not all of that.
TP needs to be going for CCC players in general such as the likes of Whelan or Webber (if a striker is to be bought) imho.
maybe we can nick the odd prem player - especially on loan,Routledge has been touted often,Berger again maybe - & Quashie seems probable but strikers tend to cost the most spondoolicks & can be the biggest risk. If we do sign another striker my guess is that TP will look to 'nick' one as he did with Ade & Fuller or maybe loan a decent one whilst/if Mama goes away. If not I think he will give Parkin,Cresswell & Pericard games.
On the other hand if we did sign Zamora somehow then that would be a massive statement of intent & Coates/Stoke would certainly be rewarded with an upsurge of interest from wavering stay-aways @ worst & promotion @ best.

I would have thought the only chance we would have of bagging Zamora would be on some sort of loan deal, until the end of the season, when all parties can see "where we are", and with some sort of permanent agreement in place should we make it up. It would seem unlikely, IMO.

west ham wont sell at anything under 2million and im sure that there are plenty of teams out there who will pay more than that eg. reading, fulham, wigan, bolton if they lose anelka etc. not realistic that we will sign another forward IMO especially if we dont offload pericard or rooney.

With a long-term deal on good Premier money and with him finally finding his feet at that level, I think there's sadly more chance of Bobby Charlton, Bobby Ball or Bobby Carolgees joining up Looks like he's been out for 4 months with a knee injury. When fit, I'm sure he'd be an attractive option for a lower Premiership team at a fee and personal terms we couldn't live with

Probably likes the London scene too much. If QPR are flashing some cash I'm sure it could suit both West Ham and him.
