Could it, does it really mean we are challengers this season?
I had a brief flirtation with it last season, i slimly believed we had a chance of stumbling into the playoffs, and whilst my disappointment was genuine it passed fairly swiftly.
But what if......
If we won tomorrow, on the law of averages that's us in the top 3, ok top 4 at worst but at a very max of 3 points off top following the boxing day game.
On top of that, Salif Diao will be due for his first minutes on the pitch in a Stoke shirt since his departure for the following game.
And if we are to believe TP's braggings of wanting to bring in 5 or 6 players, and ok, as realists we know that means 3 or 4, and 2 of those will be loans becoming permanents plus 1 of the other 2 being a loan, is it not still incredibly exciting !
I fear if we do win tomorrow then that will be it, my heart will be in it, which normally means i'm in for a broken heart, but fuck me if I don't believe this is our time, there's just something about it this time, a feeling in the air, I may just wet myself.
Well anyhoo, I raise a glass to the current staff, playing and otherwise, and wish them all the best for tomorrow, and a new year push for the automatic right to a place in the premiership !
Cheers !!!!!!!
oh, and.........
GGGOOOOOOAAARRRRRRRNNNNN SSTTTOOOKKKEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!

If we win tomorrow (OK, strictly speaking today now), then we'll definitely be in the top 3 as West Brom are playing Bristol City! We could even be top!

I feel a very upbeat feeling around the club and fans alike. I am getting very confident of a promotion push this season. The only thing that brings me crashing back to earth is remembering Sid's ramblings from last season and look where the sheep shaggers ended up. ;D Very happy and very confident but feet planted firmly on the ground for the time being.
