with 19k (?) season ticket holders and around 3k away fans, does anyone else feel it will be pretty dire if we don't sell out our first home game back in the big time?

Scholes sounded almost certain it would be a sell-out on Praise and Grumble on Friday night.

I got my ticket about two weeks ago, and there were only a few single seats dotted around the ground.

Well it is nearly sound out isnt it?. Alot more stoke fans than you think do you not remember the ldv vans trophy final 35,000 went that!?. Im sure we will fill every home game. Only game id expect us not to fill is maybe a midweek game against someone like fulham e.t.c

I think our average will be about 23k this season. I don't know what our average was last time we were in Div 1 but I know the attendance at the last Div 1 game was under seven thousand. Anyone know what our highest average ever has been?

Poor. It will be a chuffing disgrace! First home match back in top tier in 23 years. I'd hope every Stokie who is physically able will be there. My intention is to get over early and watch the academy side for the first time in my life (vs Bristol City) and make a day of it. Sadly I'll be driving otherwise I'd sink a few pints after the game too.

Anyone know what our highest average ever has been? I was tidying the house up and for the first time in months did some dusting, while dusting my book shelves I came across my Stoke City encyclopedia. Highest ever seasons average home attendance was 31,590 in 1947-48 season Average attendance in 1984-85 when we were last in the top division was 19,697 Lowest average attendance was 3,275 back in the 1889-90 season

What was pretty poor was that Bolton got less than 23k attendance against us and they have been in the premiership for a good few years - if we get 25k+ I'll be ok with that
edit: scfcdirect are only showing single seats left - less than 50 or so in total

id love to have been there but sadly stoke city football club have priced me out of going, theres just no way i can justify paying £31 for any game of football so that will be 3 of us unable to attend, first game in the top flight for almost a quater of a century and the club decide to RIP US OFF, they should hang there heads in shame

its £30 mate and if you wanted to go to it that much you would have saved up all summer
£30 is a lot but compared to all other prem prices and the fact its Villa its not a rip off

Less than a 1000 tickets left for Villa, according to the club.
Can't wait, would have been much better if it had been the opening day though.

Well i expected a little less than that its gone up a tenner from last year but tbh if i wasnt skint id pay 30quid to watch them you'd spend 60quid for a night out in Hanley these days except mon nights. So not to bad.

Had they not hoisted the price as high as they have then i would have been there just as i have been there consistantly over the last 35 seasons, but you feel free to tell my wife that one or two of the kids can go without school shoes, or that they can manage with last years school jumpers so i can attend a football match i just find it annoying that it was a cheaper option for me to go to Bolton than a F***ING home game

Hang on I was under the impression that it was sold out. So there is tickets left then. SCFC Direct wont seem to work and arent going all the way up the ground unless there is.

These should sell and it will be fuller than the Leicester game due to less segregation, we should hit about the 27k mark

I think we'll be just shy of a sell out and that will be for one reason and one reason only, the price. An unsustainable and unimaginative pricing structure put together by a halfwit.

kids today .. i had the same jumper all through high school so my dad could go the football ;D
seriously though, that is the going rate , thing is most (18,000) aren't paying that price, my season ticket works out at £18.10 a game

if its not a sell out you can moan the price is too high, but if it sells out peter coates aint gona care who is buying the tkts. whether its your first time or youve been for 35 years its still 30 quid to the club. its a shame people are priced out but dont forget how cheap those early bird season tkts were!
