I wasn't there but saw the shambles on MOTD. Bristow reckons we'll get relegated and concede 100 goals, and based on what i saw and have discussed if we defend like that against anyone decent, then 100 is possible. Any ideas Tony?

Tony wind Your neck in. No backstabbers just fans that weren't deluded enough to think we had a good enough team to compete. It's getting there but we'll struggle and that's being HONEST. We'll support the team through thick and thin but I'll say what I think and if it appears to be negative then so be it. I'm proud as punch for the team though! Spot on, sir. Well done.

Yes, there is a sense of disappointment .After the positivity of promotion, the manner of defeat was a big anti climax to all of us wishing the closed season closed.
It is not an edifying site however when rational supporters who were lauding the teams fantastic achievement suddenly start wailing at the first defeat in our first away game of the season.Even if it was at Bolton.
Did we ever think it was going to be a walk in the park?
I would expect us to be in a fight all season. What would fans do if we are near the relegation zone at the end of the campaign ?Slag of the team and the management that put us into the premiership-or get behind SCFC?
You can play the what if game endlessly. The simple fact is this is the first game of the season and all is speculation.
Creating an effective team is as much an art as a science. The palette may well have to be tweaked as time goes by,but at least wait until the painting is finished before casting a critical eye.
We all want whats best for the club.
It is easy to be cynical, but based on the pundits predictions for the first month of our campaign we were forecast to be bottom of the premiership...and we are not. But its not the end of the month would be a collective cry!? Exactly, its not the end of the campaign either.
SCFC LOUD N' PROUD.

dear goat
I think we should go with that 'football enclyclopedia' and 'sporting legend' Eric Bristow and what he said
After all - a cockney who looks like a half deflated barrage balloon whos made his home in S.O.T and, who is plainly a world renowned football expert - must always be right

i much prefer the prediction of a stoke win based on the fact that 'we are stoke'.

Well I think we'll win against Villa despite them having an infinitely better squad. Why? Because 'In Pulis We Trust'.

might be - that that was the 'wake up call 'supertone needed to correct outstanding deficiences Come on Tone, the manager should not need a 'wake up call' to correct deficiencies that have concerned many supporters for months. Especially when it has been much-debated what we would need to compete in this division. Also, there were 'deficiencies' on show on Saturday that were entirely preventable in team selection. Unfortunately, eternal gratitude at being in the Prem won't blind supporters from seeing these things and pointing them out.
