I didn't bother coming on here last night
I was disappointed and hurting - and didn't feel like the obvious battle with the backstabbers
just came now on and scanned the topics
pretty plain
there's no point coming on now for a sensible bit of dialog either !
we lost -we are all disappointed
could've easy been such a different story though
no point in even trying to discuss that either
I remain pretty much disgusted with the attitude towards your own team many people have, who post on here.
SUPPORTERS - some of you are laughable !

If you're so dissapointed and hurting would you like to tell us all why rather than just spouting more drivel.

Why make posts such as this, you are as bad as the people you profess to be the problem.

Whats the point of posting if you're not willing to discuss anything?
There were plenty of positives from yesterday for me but I can see why some are not happy this defence was allowed to start our new season.

Everybody has an opinion.
Fact is, it's just that - OPINION - nobody is right or wrong with opinion, it's what makes the world so interesting. I'm getting all philosophical now.
Anyhow I won't criticise anybody's opinion, whether it agrees or disagrees with my own, because there is no point. We're all down after yesterday, we can all be armchair managers and say what we would have done better, whether we should be critical or supportive etc. etc.
Fact is this - regardless of what you think we HAVE to stick together next week and support the team (whoever plays, even if it's Pericard and Parkin leading the line!) because WE ARE STOKE.
Let frighten the lives out of Villa and let them know we're up for it!!!!!!

Personally it irritates me how we get people who can't face facts and think 'everything will be okay' because 'we are Stoke' and 'in Pulis we trust'. Tony is just about the worst on the board for this. Hang on, Tony? Mr. P? Maybe now he won't be ridiculing other sides, considering we've been spanked by one of the poorer ones in the division.

Considering we had two key players who didn't start and with new players to come in this result was half expected, going behind to a fluke goal didn't help.

I'm sorry Tony, you are a good lad but you are becoming a complete bore.
We lost a game. People want to talk about the whys and wherefores of that defeat.
That is what a message board is there for.
The term backstabbing is out of order. I'm afraid that you need to realise that the right to opinion hasn't been suppressed by promotion however much you wish to agree with it or not and that opinion is bound to take many shades of mild to extreme observation.
For me yesterday was about not having two of our best players on the park from the start and proof that in the Premier League square pegs in round holes gets ruthlessly exposed.
I'm confident that the frailties will be addressed in the next few days but it is still going to be a long hard season.

I think he's probably trying to divert attention from the fact he got his prediction about yesterdays result so extraordinarily wrong. In fact I'm beginning to think he is enjoying us losing so he can come on here and moan at people who are disappointed. Just because we are in the PREM it doesn't automatically negate any criticism.

And if ever anything demonstrated the scale of the task ahead its the result of that 'ten minutes of madness'. Its perfectly reasonable to discuss what went wrong and the ways to improve. Also as greenhoff said the discussion has been decent and constructive. So whats your big problem Tony?

People can say what they want. Our manager is not above criticism ffs or is anyone at the club so deal with man you tart.
People get carried away ( me included) but will be buzzing next sat at 3pm but if i or anyone has pop at summat the we get crap posts like this 'backstabbers out in force' Pulis wankstains are back' fuckin grow up will ya ffs!
Pulis got it wrong yesterday meaning we lost,so move on. Will he admit to it,No,we know he won't but lets see what happens next week.

criticsm yes
e.g. We were awful at defending set pieces - some players froze on the day - we need to keep possesion much better and, - we are still short of players (left footed ones)
but the rhetoric that goes:-
Pulis is a knob / we are doomed / doesnt know what he's doing / wont spend the money / we're down already
etc etc, - is complete rubbish !
One point of view after yesterday (and yes I DID get the prediction hopelessly wrong)
might be - that that was the 'wake up call 'supertone needed to correct outstanding deficiences
and yes Griffin gave away a totlaly needless free kick that resulted in the third goal and NOBODY marked anyone - even I noticed that too !
remember 3 more players possibly to come in next saturady at the very least
i.e. Lawrence, Fuller and Faye 2

Well you must be reading posts that I haven't seen then Tony. I haven't see one calling TP a knob, or saying we are already down. I do however think the bloke has a problem spending the money that is no doubt available. I understand the 'won't bring anyone who won't improve the team' stance, but he has always said that, even in his first incumbency but he didn't necessarily stick by it.

Tony wind Your neck in. No backstabbers just fans that weren't deluded enough to think we had a good enough team to compete. It's getting there but we'll struggle and that's being HONEST. We'll support the team through thick and thin but I'll say what I think and if it appears to be negative then so be it.
I'm proud as punch for the team though!

We know there are a significant minority who will seize any chance to have a go at the manager. It sounds like there wasn't much between the teams until a fluke goal and then we found that Premiership teams punish your mistakes.
IMO the defence isn't going to be good enough with the personnel who played yesterday, and Cresswell is not a left winger, we saw evidence enough of that last season so he isn't going to be good enough for the Premiership played on the left or up front.
The positive from yesterday is that we have players to come in and our best two players from last season started on the bench.

Yes, it's the norm for other teams supporters to react happily to a 3-1 defeat, just us damn Stokies who can't seem to . I know people have to be realistic, but come on, what did you expect, we lost 3-1 and looked for periods of the game out of our depth, hopefully when Lawrence and Fuller start and with some new faces we will begin to adapt better, but we lost 3-1, what did you expect ? street parties ?.

You must have seen the same game as the rest of us serpico.
Much as I respect your view and trust the evidence of my own eyes I'm going with Ian's "sounds like" view.
It is much more reassuring you see (or hear as the case may be).
