normally I'd be expecting us to piss on a midtable team given our recent form, but Barnsley are THE form team at home in this division stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/hform.htmlmind you they are crap away , so if we go there and play like the home team, it might confuse them

Dave, I'd always see a point at Oakwell as a point gained. Despite us doing well at present I have seen us concede too many goals on too many occasions not to realise a draw from there is a good return.
(Be great to win mind! ;D)

A point away from home is always a point gained, IMHO. Irrespective of opposition and league postion.

I've been to Oakwell twice. The aggregate score from those games is 6-1 to Barnsley. The first occasion was John Clark's debut and the second is the basis of a new Wallace and Gromit adventure entitled "The Wrong Studs". In short, I hate Oakwell

Take a point now at Oakwell if someone were to offer it to me.

A loss is entirely possible and not a disaster, as long as we go unbeaten for another 7 afterwards!

It will be a tough fixture for Stoke, if the players start thinking it will be easy, we will lose. A draw would be a good result, I'd be more than happy with that.
However 3 points is possible. We can do it!

If we genuinely aspire to be a top side then these are the tough games from which we should be looking to return with a prize of some sort.
No disaster if we lose but it does then add some pressure for the Plymouth game on the Sturday!

Said the same to someone last night Smudge.
if we win at Oakwell, i think it will show that we really are a promotion contending side.
To go up automatically you have to be able to win (by whatever means) at those sorts of grounds.
Let's hope Ricci is on song.

I think the team has proven over recent games that we are a match for any team home or away, I think I'll be slightly disappointed with a draw on Boxing Day, we should go there and bring back all three, out of the 3 remaining festive fixtures I think Plymouth will prove the sterner test

i would also take apoint on boxing day, there home record speaks volumes on how tough this game is going to be, but we have every chance of winning the game if we play to our best, cmon stoke!

2 points from the next 2 games would by no means be a disaster......however there will then be pressure on the players to beat Hull, which the game's result will determine as to whether we consider the Xmas period a good one.....or one again where we have lost our way.

Its the draws that are doing us.Our immediate opponents in the league have fewer ....to be top dogs we have to be ruthless against the lower orders and do what we did at Blackpool.
If we want to pick up the gauntlet of automatic promotion, then two points dropped against teams below us are a waste that we should not be contemplating...based upon OUR current form.

A point will be fine, considering we have won the last few games at home. However after our recent run, I know that I will be slighty annoyed by a point!

As they have lost 1 (out of 11) at home all season then we'd be sounding Albionarrogant to think we should just turn up to beat them, thank fook Campbell Ryce is suspended though.. ;D

Difficult place to visit Barnsley and come away with a result but if we are to be in an automatic place at the end of the season I think we need to win trips like this. Stoke to win 2-1 with a late goal, a draw away at Plymouth and a win against Hull will do me.
