I'm a big fan of this lad, and again he proved his worth with a sound defensive display against West Brom yesterday. I'm relieved that he didn't move to Blackpool, as I feel in him we have a versatile, reliable and consistent performer - he has never let us down. He's an incredibly committed player (some great tackles), and hopefully, following his performances this season he will be given the opportunity to make the right back slot his own.
I hope TP shows confidence in Wilko, ahead of signing Stephen Wright, who has looked unconvincing apart from an assured performance against QPR, in my opinion.
Keep him in the side, Tone.

Wilko should be our regular right back from no on! He is a Stokie and he is good enough! I prefer him to Wright to be honest!

Is anyone aware of how close he was to joining Blackpool? Very near to slipping through the net, I fear..........
Still, he's remained at Stoke. ;D

Wright was better when he played leftback. Even then Pugh & Dicko would be my choice above him. Offers nothing at rightback imho.

Just goes to show that with a run in the team, some of our "kiddies" can save us the mither of having to spend money on players from elsewhere.
Wilko has been a fringe player for ages, and it's about time he got his chance. His passing isn't great and I can't imagine him doing much overlapping, but he's sound defensively, great in the tackle and decent in the air considering he's not that tall.
I don't think having Wright on loan for the rest of the season would be a bad move though. If Wilko gets injured then we're left with the prospect of seeing Buxton fannying about and dithering about like a twat.
Wright isn't all that good, but he's nowhere near as bad as Buxton.
It's also good to see Dickinson being given a few more chances as well this season. I think Pugh is a better all round player at left-back, much more composed than Dicko, but I'd have absolutely no hesitation in throwing Dicko in as cover if Pugh was injured or moved into midfield for any reason.

Wilko to remain at right-back for deffo, no point in wasting money, send Wrighty back up to Blunderland, we've always got a cracking player in Zak waiting in the wings, to be honest, you've gotta feel some sympathy for Zak, but then again, that's football for yeh!!!

I think Wilkinson is much better than Wright. Not too sure about Dickinson, has marking really isn't up to scratch, but he's otherwise solid. I think we'd be able to play out the season with Wilkinson at full back just fine.
