At the moment another great thing about being a Stokie, for exiles anyway, is the rich vein of form Nige is in. He's regularly coming out with classics. A fire engine scuttling past. Ferreting around. Argy bargy.
He's a real artist because he's expanded his repertoire past heads Go Up and Stockings. Looking to widen his horizons and explore new ground in nogger commentating. The Radiohead of radio commentaries only happier. Nige is brilliant.

Agreed. His use of the language and his whole attitude make matchday a pleasure. I'm still waiting to hear him speculate about whether to visit the jakes, when he thinks the mike is off

The guy is top notch. Completely wasted on a station like Radio Stoke. Two frequencies and both broadcasting the trainspotters. I love listening to SCWorld before and after the game for all the extras you hear. However, it had a delay of about 12 seconds over the radio yesterday so I still use the radio during the match (but go to World when they go to Vale or Crewe) Obviously no Stoke coverage was planned as you could hear Nige saying after the game "yeah I was suprised when they said we'd be going live for the second half"!

He might leave in the middle of the night to be Sunderlands assistant!

'And now Kavanagh...rolls the ball across to Weston...Kavanagh gets it back...scooped over to Barker...back to Kavanagh who stabs it back down the park to Alexander...I've seen this from Graham Kavanagh before sheepshagging fans, he'll let the ball go through his legs in a minute and Stoke will score'

He's a star. There are 2 quotes on match day that bring a big to my face, and they are: "Red and White Stockings" And "Heads Go Up" Nige "The King" Johnson
