...when Diao is fit and the new signings arrive?
Every one of the team who played today would have every right to feel agrieved at being left out.
Nice to be able to have selection headaches, but this could be a real test of TP's man-management skills.

Yeah I've been thinking the same thing! It's great to have him back but I don't think we should fix something that isn't broken. As you say, it's good to have these problems!

Our form is the best in the division at the moment. Salif and whoever else comes should have to wait. Don't change a wining team regardless of how tempting it might be.

Yeah, it'll be difficult to put even someone of Salif's class in the team at the minute simply because we're starting to look well balanced and settled. It'd be a shame to mess that up at such a critical time.

It is not a particularly difficult decision and anyway that is one of the main reasons why the manager earns the money he does, to make what are seen to be "difficult" decisions.
The centre of our midfield is playing much better than it was, but it remains relatively the weak link in our team.
A fully fit and committed Salif Diao would walk into that team.
He does everything that TP requires in a defensive midfield player, he can tackle, he is comfortable in possession, he doesn't give the ball away cheaply and he protects the centre of the defence from the midfield runner.
We need 4 decent central midfield players to mount a serious promotion challenge, to cover injuries, suspension, tiredness, loss of form etc.
Salif and another good midfield player will make us an even better team.

id drop delap with out a thought but if you cast your mind back to last season when diao and eustace played in the middle together they were both playing the same way which caused are midfield to freeze up and nothing good cam out of it. but surely on this bases you couldent drop eusatce. id give diao and eusatce another go and if that didnt work well ill leave it up to super tone to decided.

you play your best players so if better players come in you play them, its hard on the players that are dropped but thats football

Delap has done ok, but a fully fit Diao is Premiership class and should be one of the first names on the team sheet as soon as he's fit enough.

What Alli said - and I hate to say this but apart from a few good moments, SJE is the weakest link right now. (I'm not counting Delap because he's a utility player and I reckon will drop back towards defence with Salif back, or come off the bench to firm things up.)

Sounded like Eustace had a corking game yesterday.

Joe, I was there and he did. This is such a hard one, but in terms of class and the slot they play in I just think Salif is the stronger, more complete player.

I'm guessing around the middle of next month, which would mean we don't mess with a winning team right now.
