Baggies battered us at their ground and our defence hung on for a hard earned point Should we sit back a bit more today to take the sting out of their forward play and look to hit them on the break? That said we are in better form than the last time we played them

I think being defensive today sitting back and defending would be akin to writing our own death warrant! We need to get out the blocks quick and rattle them from the off this will also get the crowd going. With an intimidating crowd and the team pressurising them I think they'll make mistakes.
Fuller, Mama and Cresswell need to run at their defence - as I said on the Hoefkens thread particularly at him as we know he doesn't cope well with players with a bit of pace and he's easily pulled out of position and bullied.
We really need the crowd to be in full voice today and get right behind the team! God I'd love be there today!!!

We can't sit back, they'll murder us if we do.

My God. You are even thinking Pulis now! ;D
We are playing West Brom not Chelsea and we are at home!
The way to beat them is to push them back in their own penalty area and make them do what they are not so good at.
Have them scrapping for their lives, not invite them on to us and surrender great tracks of the pitch.

Me and Tone think as one! I don't mean we park on the edge of our box but that we play it a bit tight An open game will favour the Baggies Of course our long balls and throws will pin them back when we have the option

As previously said, sitting back an obtaining pressure, will just result in them taking control of the game, and probably winning.
The last few games, have shown that if we play " carpet football " and pass the ball around, and play nice flowing football, the results can be equally as good.
We have players in the team who can really hurt them, cressy and lawrence on the flanks is never easy to handle, and fuller is a handful for any defence.
I'm not saying we shouldn't occasionally try the long ball, because having mama in the team, as a target man, might aswell be used, for his flick-ons for fuller.
At the hawthorns we sat back, stood our ground and took a well earned point, but whilst being at home, we should go for it, we are the most tough team to play at the moment, and they certainly wouldn't complain with a point at the brit today.
come on you mighty potters, do us proud, and continue this top run of form.

Don't get too deluded now, we have hardly been playing "Carpet Football" have we? Moments have been nice and all in all there is an improvement but still have the urge to go back to the old sit back on a lead and lump it to Sidders.
I dont mind how we play today aslong as we get 3 points. If its a boring game and ends 1-0 then so be it. We need to take 3 points off the leaders and go into Boxing day within touching distance of the summit. Of course it would be very nice if we convincingly won and played extremely nice football.
