Didn't learn anything we didn't really know before.
Guy doing the tour couldn't confirm when/if we are getting the large screen - said it has been off and on quite a bit.
The shape of the away changing room in L shape so that the opposition manager can't address the squad easily.
Pitch isn't the smallest in the league so we can't be accused of that - I think he said that Liverpool's was smaller but I may be wrong on that one.

according to the premier league handbook
Liverpool
Length: 101 metres (110.454943 yards) , Width: 68 metres (74.3657043 yards)
Stoke
Length: 100 metres (109.36133 yards), Width: 64 metres (69.9912511 yards)

Thought it didn't sound right at the time as you would've thought a team like liverpool would want plenty of space to allow their playmakers to take advantage of.

what's happened to the new tunnel? That's what I thought ??? have you ever seen a tunnel under a road , designed, financed and built in 3 months ?

Post by monkeycat on Aug 25, 2008 8:46:34 GMT
I think he meant the new tunnel the players come out of

Post by Lakeland Potter on Aug 25, 2008 8:51:30 GMT
He cartainly did mean the players' tunnel, Ilford. The one on Saturday was certainly the old tunnel.
As for the one under the road that will have to wait until the next council financial year as that is when it will be in the budget. So expect it finished in time for the start of the 2009/10 season.

no new pics mate but I went down to the ground today and there are no signs of the new screen or red pitch surround. There was scaffolding in the J/S Boothen Corner so not sure if that was a tempory Sky studio for Sunday or a change of plan which would see the old scoreboard stay where it is and put the new big screen over there instead??

www.stokecityfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10310~1439591,00.html One second hand scoreboard is for sale to a good home. The scoreboard has been in operation at the Britannia Stadium for almost over eleven years and makes it's last appearance in tomorrow's game with Arsenal. It is in full working order and would be ideal for any club in the Championship or below. The board is being sold to make way for the proposed new big screen, expected to be installed at the ground around Christmas time. Anyone interested in making an offer should contact Steve Buxton on 0871 663 2008, or e-mail him at media@stokecityfc.com

Well, seeing as this thread has reappeared. I know one of the guys that works for the subcontractor involved in laying the track and they are due to go back and re-spray it around Easter-time.

Good news. I remember them saying they needed a week of clear weather or something like that to be able to do it. Red running track style, is it?

Good news. I remember them saying they needed a week of clear weather or something like that to be able to do it. Red running track style, is it? Yup. There were a few Leicester fans in the gang that laid it, and they were given a Stoke shirt which they decided to ritually burn outside of the Brit!

Maybe if they hadn't faffed about burning a Stoke shirt they'd have finished the job they were paid for. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Haha, true. He did say that there was some, erm, 'mismanagement' on Stoke's part that left them with just one week to prep and lay the track and then spray it red - obviously the latter didn't happen.
