One Problem.... If they put the new scoreboard between seddon stand & away end (south stand), The South stand would not be able to see it would they? Tell me if im wrong but im sure i'm not

I think you could be right.
I know when I went to Coventry (I think it was) it was quite hard to see their video screen as its situated where the away end is... although there isnt any caps between the stand in their ground, you could still see the board, it just wasnt the greatest view.
I suppose it depends on how big it is and how they angle it regarding the kind of view you'll get of it from the South Stand.

Yhh same. Perhaps a better position would be just above the Player's Tunnel where everyone can see it. I'd be dissappointed if they didn't because my season ticket is in the south stand

It'll be at a 45 degree angle between the Seddon and Away ends.
Modern screens don't have "loss of clarity" problems when viewed at angles as you might get with older ones like the Ricoh Arena one.

I had no problem seeing the screen at The Ricoh.

How do those sprinklers work? How are they retracted from the ground, and turf put back over them.
Surely Ronaldo et. al. will be constantly tripping over them?

They pop up out of nowhere, they even have a little turf hat on them

so ronaldo, (or maybe even John Terry...) could quite easily trip over the slightly different turf?

I snuck up the ground today, had a poke around. They're now doing the cladding/plastic sheeting at the sides of the stands, doesn't look like there's much hope for a windbreak. Managed to get into the concourses in the JS where I sit - there are new signs inside the concourse and more bins. They've dug up all the astroturf now (though not replaced it) and pulled out some rows of seats for the new dugouts. There was some scaffolding work on top of the dressing room, no idea what that was all about. New signs at the bars - £5.30 for pie and beer. Pitch is much shorter, new goals, spade stuck in the middle of the pitch. Main reception is being done up, not sure what about it though. It's all under dust covers.
Does anybody know who Ester Chem are? They've got all of the big sponsorship boards on the Boothen End and a big box in the JS. All of the advert spaces in the stands have been taken.
It is very plausible that as Radio Stoke said, the improvements will not be complete for Aston Villa.
A quick note about Sir Stan's statue - good job in cutting away the trees so it can be seen form the A50, but if you actually go up to it the area around it is looking very tatty - the bricks on the floor have weeds and grass growing up through them and the grass surrounding it is overgrown.
All in all though, I'm quite pleased.

Esterchem are a chemical manufacturer based in Leekbrook, between Leek and Cheddleton. They are owned by Duncan Bray who was once heavily involved with Leek Town and puts alot of money into the Churnet Valley railway.

Almost interestingly, Brown Skip Hire seem to have given the club some skips for last years advert boards, which lies by the JS/Boothen corner gate. Austin Cladding have an even bigger advert than last year and they're responsible for all the plastic sheeting (I think).
There wasn't any visible sign of a partition in the South Stand. I suppose a wall could have been constructed in the concourse but there was nothing on top.

Where will the dugouts go? There's a row of seats been taken out, unless they were missing before and I've been dense. That picture looks like it's from today? Actually, were you there at the same time as me? They had the same bloody piece of metal on the same bloody ladder when I was there ;D

What time were you there? I was there from 12 ish to about 12:40...I saw them lads twatting the exit for the JS Upper as though something was going to be put in there. I have noticed them seats missing so it looks like they will be set back.

With someone else, I was in a Stoke top. I did have a wander down where you took the photo from and on walking around to investigate the changing room scaffolding noticed that the entrance to the JS Lower was open and went in there instead. Don't think I saw you though?

i think what it is that they mentioned about the wind breaker is that the sheeting at the top of the boothen end and js stand(block 18 and 19) they are extending it all the way to the end of the roof to row 1!
