Got bored so i thought i'd throw the 1972 goals together with some emotive music played over the top (turn your speakers up full whack and ignore the ad thingy in the middle of the clips )

Nice work, Serpico. I appreciate your efforts if no one else does.
A bit of Dobing magic is a great way to start the day.

The crossfield pass to Conroy was something quite special, too!

Bonetti should have saved Greenhoffs shot.

You would have to agree DC he had acres of space and all the time in the world to make that pass , not sure if he would have had that kind of time and space today .
In saying that football in that era was more special to watch then now . Why i don't know .

Yes he was! He'll only ever be remembered for Lyon. If Gordon Banks hadn't had those ice cubes would we have reached the semi? We'll never know for certain BUT Banks was the one squad menmber we didn't have a replacement for.

Similarly Scott Carson could go on to win loads of caps and become an all time great but shrugging off the Croatia calamity will be dificult. Although Shilton eventually managed it following the Poland calamity.

Well i am hoping Capello will give Calamity another chance . Given its regular occurance for England keepers to drop clangers , Calamity James should be re-instated

Thing is James can make staggering saves no other keeper can make. Problem is the nuts and bolts of keeping have never been right with him. His vulnerability on crosses could be partly down to the fact that when he collects he doesn't put his knee up.
But he must feel unlucky that Carson got in over him.
