1986/87.
It was my first season as a Stoke fan, and over the xmas period we were absolutely awesome.
From what I can remember, we'd already beaten Leeds 7-2 in December, and then went to Barnsley on boxing day and won 2-0 (a win at Barnsley....I don't think I've seen us do this since!).
We actually played at home the next day against Sheff Utd and won 5-2, which was my first ever game before rounding things off with a 1-0 win at home to Shrewsbury on New Years day. (I think?)
How the hell did we not go up that season? (Might have been something to do with our atrocious start, thinking back)
Another xmas like that would be great. 7-2 tomorrow? ;D

The reason we didn't go up was something to do with Mick Mills and a defunct jigsaw.
