He also thinks that he is a better player than he actually is.
What is that based on? ???

Joe...It is based on certain comments made both in the press and privately regarding his ambitions and how he desperately wanted to stay at Stoke.

I must have missed that. What did he say?

Joe....He several times expressed his frustrations at being left out of the team. There was at the time certain tensions as Hoefkens was a fans favourite.... I know of a couple of fans who he spoke to him off the record as to the reasons why, and what he thought.I'm sure you can guess the rest.It would be completely unfair of me to go into the sordid detail as it has already been well documented over here.

Being frustrated at being left out of the team is no problem.
If he really thought he play for a better club than Stoke its no problem either.
I'd hardly describe a player wanting to play for a bigger club 'sordid'.

Joe....I agre...I wouldn't describe a player who expressed the desire to play for a bigger club as 'sordid' either.. The 'sordid' detail is saying one thing ...and doing another.

Shock horror baggies fan agrees that he ain't the best defender! Fuller should have him in knots today - I wouldn't be surprised if Pulis doesn't tell Fuller and co to target him today and get behind him.
Godo . . . good comeback! ;D
Serpico . . . being player of the season in the Boschump era didn't take much really did it!

Get Fuller in a wide position running straight at him and then we make sure we have midfielders backing him up so we can keep the ball in their third of the pitch. Get Lawrence putting quality balls in with the midfield runners attacking the near post spaces.

You probably believe in Father Christmas if you consider any other scenario than Pulis wanted to trade Carl in to any taker as quickly as possible from day one.
The situation is now history and not worth the debate but...
The more disturbing aftermath is that Stephen Wright is thought of as improving the side.
That is moving into the Moon is made of cheese territory.

Hoefkens was a great player for us. I don't think he was forced out as he played all season apart from in September when he had clearly fallen out with Pulis.
He was offered a better contract at West "Brazil" Albion, they were promotion favourites from the start and he was going to be earning more, that is why he left. He's gone, forget him and get behind the team today and let's hope Carl has a bad game!
