VERY bold move. I can understand it, with him being the first name on the team sheet every game, but its gonna be interesting to see how it pans out.
Hes had virtually no experience captaining a team and with him being a bold character, you just cant help but think that its gonna change him as a player.
Thoughts??

I'll give him time, but I do fear that his expansive, open style of play might be somewhat tempered by the burden of being captain.
Added to which, he is South African!
Good luck KP

Very bold move IMO
Putting extra burdens on your best batsman, when nobody else is scoring consistently (Cook apart)
Will it temper his attacking game?
To be honest I dont think it matters who we have as captain nowadays - 20 20 cricket is ruining test cricket - nobody (Cook apart again) seems to regularly be able to get their nut down and bat like its a test match lasting five days
Then again - maybe someone like Pieterson with his attacking and apparant carefree attitude can get the best out of similar types like Freddie and England will be flying again - heres hoping

Bopari in for Vaughan - apparently
So I presume side will be:
Cook Strauss Pietersen Bell Collingwood Bopari Flintoff Ambrose Sidebottom Anderson Panesar

Piece on KP on SSN this morning
Apparently his father was a stickler for promptness and manners, and the writer of Pietersens autobiography said that he could not fault KP on this front
Said his manners and timekeeping were impeccable, and he came across as a very focused and motivated person
Wonder if he will get the card school up and running on time when it rains at The Oval ;D

Last night they had a bit where they were talking to his old school teacher, who was recalling when KP batted 6 and was considered just an off spinner. I wasn't sure whether it was honesty or bitterness*, but when asked "did he have any leadership qualities as a young man?" the teacher replied "none at all".
*I'd imagine every fucker in south africa is pissing themselves at us right now, Pietersen or no Pietersen.
