Is he ready for first team football or is he getting trained for a breakthrough next year?
He's 23 and if he has the quality and is as fast as the Jamaican press say he'd be interesting to watch against some of the less pacy defenders in this league.

In a nutshell-yes. And he isn't lightweight.

if his chance comes and I mean a full start he really needs to take it as I feel TP would not pick him if he has an average game. Its a big ask for him but I really hope he does it.

Would you dare stick him in against WBA and push Cresswell up with Fuller?

No we need Mama for the WBA game just to piss off there fans, they say every time we play against stoke " sidibe plays like bloody drogba" which is true, just without the goals

No I wouldn't but I think for 20 minutes at the end where we may go off the pace he could come on and provide something different and keep the momentum going.

He would turn Hoefkens inside out, i think.

i think he isn't big enough, perhaps a little harsh but we are building a unit here, and he may ruin it, we need a strong player who has a decent delivery on the left(preferably a left footed liam lawrence)
a player to bring on last 15, nothing more

I think he would too, he may have Cressy in his pocket though....

The Baggies will have to be very good when defending Corners, and other set plays and if I remember Hoefs was certainly not the strongest in the air.

considering EVERYTHING goes through him.... and an extra 9 assists wouldn't go amiss either
demar would get outmuscled , seems like a nice lad but not big enough for the championship (or our team) we wont be able to bully teams like we do so often with him in

He rides tackles as well as I've seen! Keeps the ball too! And what I mean by the opposite of Lawrence is some who is pacy and can beat a man. I think a small, pacy winger would compliment Lawrence beautifully. Who is slower and more of a playmaker!

based on 4 minutes action against charlton(?)
if your on about reserves he is playing against 17 year olds every week, totally different
i see where your coming from though

Yes based on the reserves-he looks tiny in the reserves and gets kicked and battered but he keeps the ball or gets the foul. He runs up and down the line like a man possesed and can beat his man. He is the outstanding player on the pitch in the reserves. And his 10 minutes against Sheffield United he did more attacking than any other Stoke player on the pitch for the previous 80!

He will come good, corts head, he likes to use his pace to beat his man, and cuts inside like Lawrence.

Never realised that you had to be a big bastard to play on the wing. I always thought pace and skill were the deciding factors ???
Get him in. Speed scares the living daylights out of this league. I'd love him to undress the baggies defence with his pace

from what i've seen of Demar, including a full 90 mins for the reserves, he really looks the real deal. Get him on for a decent chance and I reckon he could do a good job for us.
You can sense the excitement he gives the crowd by the atmosphere just before he comes on...
DEMAR! DEMAR! DEMAR!

Sidibe was immense last year against the baggies so the same from him again!
Demar, needs to be given a chance, but you shuldn't change a winning team unless you're forced to!

My honest opinion is that you will not see Demar start a dozen competitive first team games for this football club.

Due to his size he'll have to be the most skillfull player we've ever had to make it at this level. I'm with mark Wolstanton on this one, no more than 12 games for Stoke, Hope he proves me wrong.

Are you saying no more than 12 games this season or 12 games before he's released elsewhere. If we did pay a " significant fee" this would seem rather shortsighted

Well I for one hope you are wrong, very wrong. I can't wait to see Stoke playing with a pacy winger again

Post by MarkWolstanton on Dec 20, 2007 20:45:38 GMT
I hope I'm wrong too. ;D
If he beats my prediction it will mean we have an outstanding talent on our hands. He will have to be every short and frail inch that to break through as things stand.
Like you I yearn to see pace on our flanks again.

Rule 1 - Leek Lads and Dads age 9-11 circa 1981.The easiest ball to head and most difficult ball to defend comes from the byline
