When one considers the reasons why Stoke City and other clubs are struggling to get bums on seats one needs to look around and read some of the P.C brigades comments on all matters football. Their main complaints revolve around swearing,smoking,racism,and homophobia, which many of my age all grew up thinking was totally acceptable(apart from homophobia).Now it is deemed to be totally unacceptable,whilst most of those serial offenders guilty of such crimes,.. seem in great decline.Hurrah one may say....! But the price that football is paying at Championship level,.. is that a lot of clubs are struggling to survive. We are in an age of £15,000 a week at West Brom...and £11,000 a year in a Mcdonalds.Those of us on here(Oatcake) probably fall into the territory somewhere in between.....THE COMFORT ZONE. Football is no longer affordable to the vast majority of working class fans anymore and those with young families. Football will eventually become a very elitist sport where 'knuckle draggers, Queer bashers','bog roll throwers' and people who use Public transport on a regular basis are no longer seen or frowned upon due to their disappearance on grounds of affordability. You can't have it all ways...It used to be the 'beautiful game' enjoyed by the masses.Now it's enjoyed on New years day as a special treat for many as a cure for the party hangover. Whilst we have this current situation of top heavy biased financial rewards for The Premiership Clubs I see little improvement in things. Rant Over.   |

- Too much money in the game, attracting the ManUtd type of 'supporter' eating his prawn sandwiches and flying back to London by private helicopter.
- The clamp down on all forms of expression that don't conform to the dogmatic ideal being presented as 'modern Britain'
