I know the boundaries changed not so long ago, but I thought Uttoxeter was on the edge of Staffordshire borderline Derbyshire. How has Burton crept into our county? Thats got to be another 10+ miles east of Uttoxeter ???

They use the Dove I know that much but Burton is defineately in Staffordshire. It has a Derby postcode though.

Yeah looking at another map the boundary does indeed follow the River Dove.

Cheeky little bit sticking out around South Staffs too, where Wombourne is. Hmm interesting...

Let me asure you that Burton is most definitely in Staffordshire and always has been. Having been born in Stoke, and lived in Burton for the past 17 years, there's no way my address will ever read Derbyshire. For a start i'd then have to marry my sister ;D

adnamsa, the reason I assumed this was due to the fact that Burton never used to compete in Staffordshire county championships in swimming and we always affiliated to Derbyshire. Only recently they have started to compete. I was told tis was due to boundary change, which meant Wolverhampton left the county, however they still compete there
