little corker came from?? Mowbray braced for backlash Table-topping Albion boss Tony Mowbray remains braced for a critical backlash if he misses promotion. The Baggies are the talk of football’s second tier - and top of it for the first time since February - after a live TV screening captured another richly-entertaining and high quality performance in the 4-2 defeat of Charlton. Watford’s surprise 0-1 home defeat by Plymouth ensured Albion remained top after serving up Saturday’s lunchtime treat. And it is the style of Albion’s march towards the Premiership which is wowing the game and will be in focus yet again on Saturday when Mowbray’s free-flowing team face a culture-clash collision at Stoke. Tony Pulis’s side remain one the division’s most successful Route One exponents and will once more provide a fierce examination of Albion’s ability to withstand the physical challenge of Championship football. Mowbray is more committed than ever to delivering successful football with style while acknowledging that he will be in the firing line of the Baggies miss promotion for a second year running. “The time to judge is at the end of the season when we see how many points we’ve got and, if we miss out again, I’ll be there to take criticism,” says the Albion boss whose team are averaging more than two goals a game. Meanwhile, Mowbray today distanced himself from weekend media speculation linking Albion with Villa striker Luke Moore and Hibernian defender David Murphy. Both players are reportedly unsettled at their current clubs but Mowbray said: “I have never had a conversation with Martin O’Neill about any of his players. “And I have never had conversations with either John Collins or Gordon Petrie at Hibs either.” I'll give you a clue, the first bit of the papers' name sounds a bit like "Excuse" These wankers really need to get out more, please, please let us beat them on Saturday if only to have more bullshit spouting out of the Black Country.

I spoke to someone who was watching the West Brom vs Charlton match and he said he fell asleep in the first half, it was that boring. In fact it was so boring he went out and was stunned when he heard the score was 4-2!!!

I particularly liked: "The Baggies are the talk of football’s second tier" and "when Mowbray’s free-flowing team face a culture-clash collision at Stoke."
It's great stuff, keep it coming I say. Perhaps we should email the club with it so they can pin it up in the dressing room?

They do play better football than us though, thats a fact, and so do Charlton who've drastically improved since our game with them earlier in the season, and we do play long ball, what they say is true, it may come across as smug but it's all true, i don't see the problem with that article.

Good idea Jamo, although I think the players may allay know what was said in that jumped up student rag...oh sorry respected publication, just hope they treat the baggies with the same respect paid to Sheff Utd for their comments.

I'm not denying it serpico, but you've hit the nail on the head. It is smug and it's totally over the top. If they were that good they'd be top by a mile if not still in the Prem. If they can't have better players than us after getting the money that goes hand in hand with spending time in the top flight then it's time to give up. Its arrogant bullshit and they need a reality check, hopefully they'll get one on Saturday.

They do play better football than us though, thats a fact However the style and quality of which Fullers second goal came from on Saturday was totally to do the brute force punt up field type of footy we play, I mean no class at all involved in that ask any of the near 2000 Stokies who were there.

That'll do for me as well bogus. It's always nice to beat the Baggies (well you kind of expect it) but in light of recent events it will be all the sweeter. Having said that when you think back to our meetings in the early 90's their local rag was always into slagging us off so perhaps nothings changed?

Not just the local rag though was it, Central used to really wipe the floor with us when ever we were up against the our West Midland neighbours.

You can only laugh at them, after all they only spent £9million in the close season on players ffs, they should be running away with the league.

Maybe us being the Baggie Bastards would make the media sit up and realise that fancy-dan football isn't going to guarantee success.

It must be difficult getting copy out of the West Brom journalists after they've wanked themselves silly over all those lateral passes.

Is it just me or did anyone else thought that Charlton were pathetic on the day? Their defending was woeful. I doubt that they'll get much space against us. 3-0 to Stoke

I did and also thought that the Baggies defending was equally woeful.

If we beat these cunts with 3 'nasty owwible' punts from Simmo to Fuller, then Christ, give Tone the freedom of Stoke-on-Trent.
Lets have a think of some songs for them, eh?
