I went there once and I yelled GOOOOAAARRN STOKE or something similar and got a couple of annoyed looks. Couldn't believe it. It was a football match for heavens sake.

Bogus, I did a stadium tour a few weeks ago and the whole reason they carpeted the concourse was because of the smoking ban RoryM

Nice view but...................you can't get chips.
.....but you do also get to see the reserves in block 2 looking bored like they're on a school trip to see a Shakespeare play.

John Smiths is ace, great view, plenty of singing whenever I've been - the only uncomfortable moment was when I was effing and blinding and then noticed a small child nearby looking to his dad - oops! Still , that can happen anywhere in the ground!

My season ticket seat is in the JSU on the very back row, the positives are the view the concourse and the lack of shall we say undesirables sitting near you ( and that is not aimed at the vast majority of fans in other parts of the ground, just a tiny minority who try to spoil it for everyone else) The one negative is the distinct lack of atmosphere.

I've got a season ticket in block 8, I've had one since we've moved to the brit. it's superb, you can watch the game then go straight to the bar get served have a pint, sit in a nice comfy chair then go out and watch the second half. It's like watchin the game from your local ;D

Of course not all of the JSU is carpeted. For us who are on the south side of the JSU, we still await the refurb.
Even better, those in Block 4 know that we are going to face a considerable hike in prices next year ... as promised by our lovable Chief Exec. Still, the view is great. I just can't get used to watching a game from behind a goal - usually at away games - Blackpool was a treat ... how do you work out the angles ???
However, if you think the JSU is high, I went to Villa v Portsmouth last week in the Trinity Road stand ... now that is high! God knows what it's like at Old Trafford.
