Dont know what everyone one else thinks, but the more I think about it ans see other activity then I really think 3 or 4 of these will arrive soon!
Keane waiting on signing of the spurs players, Gardener to Hull, coglan to Sunderland
Maybe I am putting together 2+2 = 4 but that what it feels like

Apart from Fulop , the other three would give us a strong Championship side not a premiership side. I would not spend big money on any of them. Sunderland struggled last year and these three were not regular starters for them all season, surly that must say something and start the alarm bells ringing ???? Fulop only for me I'm afraid.

How can you say Whitehead was not a regular starter, he was their captain all season!! Higgy played the majority of games as well, and I think Murphy became a regular in the second half of the campaign.
It is not always an indication in any event that a player won't do well for us if he was not a regular at his last club - we pulled Mark Stein out of Oxford's reserves for God's sake!!
I'd gladly take Fulop, Higgy and Whitehead, but not necessarily Murphy. For the left hand side, I'd love us to take a chance on Adam Johnson of 'Boro.

Not about improvement its about being good enough for the Premiership !! Missing the point. All these players play for a team who escaped by the skin of their teeth and are feely ready for transfer at a price. Higgy was woeful last year !!

Higgy has been playing left back in pre-season so far, and the reports today are that Keane has bid £7m for a young African left back who plays in France (can't remember his name). If this lad and Kaboul sign up, surely Higgy will be surplus to requirements?

Another concern is that everyone seems to think that Higgy had a poor season in the Prem. However, when he was with us in the Championship I thought he was outstanding.
So what does that say for the rest of our squad?
Personally though, I would be pleased with Higgy coming back, his leadership skills, enthusiasm and ability would be a great asset. I think Pulis' managerial style suits him so he should perform better in OUR red and white stripes.

Missing the point??? Dont think so, but if you think we are in a position to do much better then you are deluding youself!

For Stoke to do that I would consider it to be a massive success. We need to be realistic in who we can attract to the club. Sunderland had a team to keep them up last season, this season they are building a team to finish 4 or 5 places higher. We've got to follow that kind of plan.

Adam Johnson would improve our side, exactly the sort we need
supposed to be going on loan to Rangers?
cant see Boro loaning a player to us,no idea how much to buy him.

I hope this is only partly true... Fulop...yes at the right price Higgy...no thanks he was crap last season regularly caught out for pace and dropped a few times by Keane...now a decent champs player Whitehead....yes please one of sunderlands better players Murphy...surely we can do better than this?
Sunderland cast offs...probably not good enough to make a significant improvement on our squad

People seem to think Higginbotham was woeful last year but Sunderland fans think he was ok - some good, some bad. It's not true to suggest he was a disaster. Murphy was inconsistent but weighed in with some important goals, Whitehead was captain. All would get in our side.

Higginbotham is a good player and he'd certainly do a job.
Whether he wants to re-join us is another matter

Whether he wants to re-join us is another matter I know u think i am full of schit but i can tell u Higgy DEFINITELY wants to come back, this is 100%- this hasnt come from my agent friend this is first hand. As i have posted on here several times in the past 3 or 4 months he still has his house on Wychwood park, his family are not settled in sunderland and spend a lot of time around here. If sunderland get the players in he WILL be coming back.

Sunderland struggled last year and these three were not regular starters for them all season, surly that must say something and start the alarm bells ringing ???? Fulop only for me I'm afraid. We survived fairly comfortably in the end with a few games to go, and bear in mind we were savaged with injuries (had our 4 strongest midfield players out for several months at the same time), and had quite a few BIG decisions go against us. Whitehead missed the first couple of months with injury but once he returned, he started EVERY game for us... and I still can't see Keane allowing him to leave because Keane loves him.. and he is still good enough for our starting line up. Murphy started most games in the second half of the season and was by far our best winger last season.. (Carlos Edwards was injured for the most part and was poor when he returned), he was the only winger in our team who had any sort of end product... and still our only player who can actually get to the byline and stick crosses in. Keane will not allow him to leave until we bring in another striker btw, we are thread bear in that department. Jones is out for several months (our best player), O'Donnovan and Stokes are still very much work in progress and not ready for the Premiership yet, and Chopra needs a partner to play alongside. In the friendly games, Keane has played Murphy as a striker as we have no other options, dont expect him to leave until we bring one or two in. I think Higgy will be leaving though as he is not in Roy's first team plans, and cant break into our defence as it is and thats excluding Chimbonda and Kaboul. Wouldnt be suprised to see him part of the Fulop deal.
