No where near 1,900. Probably about a thousand was our highest.

Would you prefer him to replace it with a penis?
In all seriousness, if you click profile at the top, you can change it so you can't see the avatars. There is a thread at the top about it too.

Unfortunately that is a very crude tool and blocks everything. I think a little respect for the kids and ladies who use the board is not too much to ask for.

i agree to a certain extent that the amount of tuborg i've put away is making me lean towards nostalgia. but the amount of times i've sat in the home end due to a mate without a card who fancies a trip and recognised other stokies in there suggests stoke could have a better away following, then they presently do in the away end allocated.
off the top of my head i know four people who wont/cant go as they dont have an ID card who used to go with us regularly. If you repeat this across the city you see attendances away are down not because every body elses are but due to the ID card.. wether it is now better/safer is not the question..attendance wise you cannot deny their impact.

ID cards and having to pre-purchase tickets stop the lads going who decide last minute that they are up for it.
There were plenty of times in my past that the decision was taken by the lads on the Friday night after a few beers and by Saturday morning you were either down Fenton hiring a van or at Stoke station getting a ticket.

No need to try to hide the swearwords on this board Sidders.....I agree entirely. I'm abroad now but its bloody annoying when I come back and can't watch them at an away match.

calagary the real fact is we are sitting ducks for over zealous stewards who think its really clever to "eject you for stamping feet aggressively".

It was probably the same in the old days but at least then you had weight of numbers and they thought twice about entering the fray.

Yes but you didnt get the problem of a possible ban from travelling away just because a steward takes a dislike to you.

might of been mentioned before but why cant you pay on the gate, but before you go in get your id card gets looked at by the stewards before you do, that way you can still get people going who make a last minute decision and get bigger crowds and should make eveyone happy.

If you really don't like it then can I suggest that you modify your profile to block avatars ?

Is blackpool the only away fixture dave?
|
|
|
Post by daverichards on Dec 15, 2007 16:24:43 GMT
No. personally I think that all season ticket holders should get ID cards chucked in next time round, but some still see it as an invasion of their civil liberties, and some wouldn't get one anyway .
Me I think they have improved the away experience, numbers maybe down but so is the potential to have your head kicked in by opposition fans (or even ones claiming to be stoke fans) ... but thats just my experience of pre- and post ID card games

Post by CalgaryPotter on Dec 15, 2007 16:47:13 GMT
I agree with that comment about season ticket holders Dave, if you put the money up for a season ticket and Stoke are happy to take it then they should automatically throw in the ID card unless you have a record as long as your arm.
