I think Sunderland would accept between 2m and 2.5m. I would be happy with that or with Carson

Objectively, Fulop ain't worth 3m regardless of what those biased Hungarians on that forum say, Bayern! And Higgy's star has fallen since this time last year. 4m for the 2 would be a decent deal though.

Yes he is, I would take the money to him in 5p's so he would get confused and think it was a lot more...

Isn’t Keane Irish? Wouldn’t it be a Feck off? Or "feck off yer big bollocks" as he reportedly said to Mick MCarthy ;D

But Keane and Quinn are the blokes that want 3 million. Them and the Sunderland fans seem a bitter bunch about how much they had to pay for players last season.

Unfortunately not mate Just what i mentioned above. My mate has said we have offered a good deal to him and that he wants to think about it. The general consensus is that he's holding out for another offer. Not necessarily a better financial one, but a better offer for prospects. Sadly we are not the most glamorous of clubs and favorites to struggle Vicious circle really

To be honest, if Liverpool are prepared to let him go for half the price they initially wanted, then it's clear he's not as good as they thought. WBA are welcome to him, we should concentrate on Fulop, Nash and not forgetting Simonsen who is a bloody good keeper. IMO, goalkeeper is the least important requirement and we should be tying up deals for the outfield players that we all know we need.

As mentioned above, £4m for both Fulop and Higgy would seem reasonable, if it wasn't for the fact that bitter little Oirish twat is wound up because we shafted him on the Higgy price last summer and is determined to get his own back.
Sod Keane, sod Carson and his "touting his boy to all and sundry" agent, get Nash in for a few hundred grand from Wigwam, give Spurs a "take it or leave it" £1.5m offer for Gardner, and let's spend the rest on at least one decent full back, a quality left winger and a striker to play with Fuller who may score more than 4 goals a season.

So you don't think we are looking at strikers?
Pulis always likes to keep his cards very close to his chest, and this Carson situation shows why

never said that just really hoping for something to materialise on the striker front soon and for this keeper situation to be resolved carson/fulop whomever so we can focus on strengthening what we really need which is 1 or 2 strikers

We can only hope that we have at least 2 new signings on the plane to Austria, which is why I think we can't waste too much more time on Carson. I would be on the phone to Snderland now re: Fulop, tell Carson we want an answer by the morning.
We need one of them, and a striker, and if possible someone like Gardner by the end of the week.
Here's hoping

I'm sure Pulis is outraged that this even got out. There's a reason he never talks about transfers and now we've seen why.
On the other hand, it has given the fans something to talk about other than panicking.

I doubt Boro are interested as Southgate made such a point of publicly backing his keepers after Schwarzer left and wouldn't go back on his word and risk the effect it would have on the dressing room..
Saying that he hasn't been sensible in not sorting out those fucking teeth by now so he may not be as thoughtful as I might have first suggested....

Daily Mail now reporting Blackburn have officially entered the race.
''Paul Ince has made a late bid to snatch Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson from under the noses of Stoke and West Bromwich.
New Blackburn boss Ince has turned to the England international after losing Brad Friedel to Aston Villa.''
Go's on to say we might now turn to Fulop.

Carson was definitely worth a try but was always a bit of a long shot.
We aren't reliant just on him so it's not a massive deal. 3m for Fulop is too much but hopefully we can come to some sort of compromise.
Like Pulis says, Goalie isn't particularly our number 1 priority it just so happened that the chance of a deal for Carson came along and we went for it.

Carson's name was quite nice to have bandied about, but Fulop sounds more like what we need, what with his apparent ability on crosses. Could it have been a ploy to drive his price down? If Sunderland want to sell, it's possible.

If we can get him for less than £2m - not sure about this 3m figure that's started to be bandied about by the local media though. Seems a really silly price.

I can't see us playing that much for Fulop.
This Carson coverage may work in our favour though. We know the strength of player power nowadays. As soon as Fulop saw the national media coverage linking us to Carson, you can guarantee Fulop had a few words to say to Keane for declining our bid. The lad wants first team football, he know's he will get it with us and as far as I am aware, we are the only prem team in for him.
It looks like this one is going to be a battle of stubborness but sooner or later I should think he will be joining us.
