I heard a rumour of £4 MILLION mentioned and then we sign a couple..... Pugh,Cort... Then we sign up Diao until 2009. Then we receive £305,000 from Scunthorpe for Patterson... (although this money apparently will not be put towards new players) Strange.? I wonder what exactly is left for future signings.? ??? ??? ??? P.s...oops I forgot to mention the Shawxross situation £1,000,000 pending....?

How many loans do we/will we have come the January window? I've kind of lost track of how it works....but given we sign some of them permanently (?) I think we might see some "'til the end of the season loans"; perhaps save some immediate spending on more permanents, fund a promo push and spend in the summer (supposing we DO get promoted?).......

Sign Shawcross, Zakuani, Quashie, Whelan, Routledge X by improved attendances = promotion SGS

Shawcross should be bought immediately if Man Utd are prepared to listen to offers before anyone else steps in.
If he cost us £2million he would be worth double that in 18 months at the very least.
I agree with Sneyd green stokie on the others too....++ a goody nippy striker as a partner for Fuller.

I think moving for Shawcross permanently now would be prudent, and would state more of our 'intention'... edited for pissed typos

I really do hope they can do a deal with Man U for Shawcross. I think Jan may be a busy month for the Potters.

Shawcross is the key man for me, followed by (equally) Wright & Zak. Busy busy busy.

I just hope that the close relationship between Rudgie and Fergie can be used to our advantage and that Scholes is left to write the cheque out, rather than play an 'active' part....!

When considering the amount Cort will cost, don't forget the other side of the transaction that we are due (allegedly) £500k from Crystal Palace for Hill.
Personally, I hope we don't sign Wright. We already have Wilko for that position with Delap and De laet as cover and as a utility back four player I'd much rather have Zak. Wright has two dodgy games out of three as far as I can see and is as injury prone as Wilko.

Not much I would imagine, but I would hope we have enough for someone like Whelan, now that Salif has finally signed.
If there is any money left I wouldn't waste it on Wright he is a complete liability, I can see Delap dropping back to right back to keep him in the side.

When Pulis was asked this specific point at the weekend regarding future funds available he replied..."Theres's no problem with Peter, and hopefully after Christmas we can bring a couple of fresh faces in!" The exact amount of money was not mentioned obviously....

Two quality fresh faces would be fine - providing that we retained the loan players - apart from Wright, in my opinion.

Mr Fornside.... Which would be your priority position in looking for new players.?
ie...Midfield,attack....I won't mention defence in case some haven't had their breakfasts.. ;D ;D

[My gut reaction is as follows,we shall sign all the loans with the exception of Wright, pls Diao, then thats it. I do hope I am wrong and that Master Coates is a tad more ambitious than that, come on Mr Coates £60 mill awaits you.

mumf - we need a creative midfielder and a pacy winger.
Creative midfielder - Whelan is the obvious choice - I think Quashie is too similar to Diao.
A left winger would be ideal to release Cresswell to play as a striker. I suspect Routledge (who is a right winger) might be available. If we got him I'd move Lawrence to the left wing where he did ok last season - he's not a conventional winger and he seems to be able to operate well on the left.
So those would be my two new faces - but we do need to keep: Cort, Pugh, Zak and Shawcross as well.

You want to make your mind up Forner, you were advocating him for central midfield duties only the other day. Left wing my fucking arris.

He played a few games opn the left for us last season, RAF and did quite well. Of course, I realise you don't get to many games these days (still no home games?) so perhaps you did not see any of his performances on the left. I'll tell you one thing - he was a damned sight better there than Hendrie was in his second spell.

Perhaps..Tony has already got something up his sleeve ready to surprise us with,.. rather than risk the wrath and abuse from members of 'The Darkside'.
I'm sure he won't be just searching around aimlessly..he's bound to have some targets in mind.

Oh right, he must just have been vvank on the left when playing away from home then. But then again, you can't make your mind up whether to play him on the left where he did 'quite well' or in his 'Natural'? position in the middle. Personally I think he is playing well enough on the right, why fuck around with something that isn't broken? We need a left hand sided player and have done for fucking ages, putting Lawrence in there would just fuck things up in my opinion.

Smudge likes Buxton. He's given him an average of 7 last year and 7 so far this year. Not many players have achieved that.

John, as well you know, facts can be manipulated. Buxton only played one game didna he? So, he happened to have one good game out of one. M.

I'm well aware of that Mick - he only had one game this season as well before his cameo on Saturday. But he got a seven from Smudge last season and for his one game this season. So, in the 06/07 and 07/08 averages, he is up there with the best. No manipulation involved - simply raw unadulterated data.
