i heard TS on the radio this morning and he made an alarming statement "Mr coates will back Mr Pulis financially if the right players are found" is he implying that pulis has brought players who are not right to the club or does it mean that scholes and coates decide who they are going to sign which is supposed to be the managers job

Doesn't sound at all alarming to me. It sounds that if TP finds decent players who will cost a bit then he will get backed by the Chairman. That's what I'd hope to hear from any Chief Executive.
I don't always like what Scholes says (or the way he says it sometimes) but that statement seems uncontroversial to me.
