I live in the real world and reading the thread called "What a Disgrace" totally agree with the sentiments expressed about christian children made to pray in the muslim faith but I dont think the problem is religious differences in this country because whether we like it or not we will end up a multi-racial society. I think the main problem facing us are gangs of ferral youth roaming our cities with no morals, manners or knowledge of the difference between right or wrong, there are many, many fine teenagers in this city that we should be proud of who are well mannered and are doing positive things with their lives. would anybody walk across our city after midnight and feel safe because i certainly wouldn't. i think sooner or later we will end up like America where knives and guns are the norm not the exception

The youth of today are fecked.
And it is the bulk of them ,it cool to be a bad lad nowadays .
A whole generation of lazy, pay tomorrow predominantly violent adolescents.
Weened on gangster music, violent video games and chav talk.

I am realtivley well spoken and think you may have just described sing n fight. There are admittedly though a bulk of people who are exactly as you have described though most of the people I know are nothing like that.

sorry miniman haven't seen that thread, i work in education and have visited the Muslim Centre in Shelton, a Seikh temple in Fenton and a Jewish Synagogue just to improve my knowledge of other religions, but would never think of pressurising our pupils into learning about these religions. Its some of our teenagers I worry about who are unemployable, with no manners, language like sewers and would steal anything thats not nailed down.

Ferral youths aren,t the problem ,Ferral PARENTS are the problem!! Until mums and dads start taking control of their kids nowt will ever change. The only time kids should ever fight is with visiting fans or at away matches!!!!

Thanks Fentown....
Obviously when adults go out they see 'Gangs of hoodies with knives' whereas it is most probably going to be a group of mates just hanging out! I hate it when you go into a shop and they send you out for the rule, 'No more than one child in shop at one time'....twice thats happened and I utterly hate it!!!

I have two teenage daughters and worry all the time about 'Gangs of hoodies with knives' .
They both have male friends who they hang around with, even to the extent that they are both football mad and spend most of their time down Powerleague or the school pitches. These lads are the politest and most considerate people I know, but to see them out and about you could not distinguish them from the 'Gangs of hoodies with knives'
So don't lump them all in the same dustbin.
Give em a chance and they will show through.
I do agree that the lost generation (maggie's children) are now the parents from hell.

like I said in my original post, there are loads of teenagers who are a credit to this city, but stand outside our school gate 15 min before finishing time, there's a gand of at least 8, some as young as 12 swearing, smoking, cans of lager in hand abusing staff who unfortunately have to do their duty there, they've been kicked out of schools many for their total lack of morals, standard of behaviour and violence towards staff, they have no future are unemployable and will probably end up in jail or on drugs. What is the solution to this ferral youth

I hate being part of this generation because of the number of chavs, wannabe gangsters and complete lazy, doss-about, fuckwits. It makes people stereotype you as one of these people just because of my age. I can honestly say I am the complete opposite to that and the people I hang around with aren't like that too. Fair enough, I've got the odd mate who hasn't got a part time job but he stills goes college in the hope of being something, a somebody who can give something back to the community There's too many kids my age (I'm 18 by the way) who have this 'Take Take Take' mentality where they think the world owes them one for giving them a self confessed shite childhood. It's bollocks if you ask me. A shite childhood to kids my age is no longer being orphaned or having a working class family that scrapes every penny they need just to keep going. It's having parents that don't give them everything they want, parents that won't let them begin smoking at 11, won't let them stay out until the early hours of the morning and won't let them drink 'too much'. If kids have done those sorts of things then they're fucked for life. They grow up through the teenage years to be wasters and prime Jeremy Kyle candidates. However, going back on the 'Shite Childhood' theory, them kids rebel as soon as they can and then it's the same again. There's got to be a line drawn somewhere and I have always blamed the parents for not having enough control All I hope is that I'm one of the lucky few that have survived this shit generation, who will go on and be something. I have a part time job, I go college, I have a fantastic girlfriend and I'm incredibly content with life and what it's given me. I don't have this mentality that society, the country and the world owes me one
