cheers swampy, karma sent, still a bit confused with who to go with, that many different types of accounts and companies, and above all charges, cost a bloody fortune.

Hi Boslem Stokie Why do you want to sell the shares? Do you think your company is likely to do well in the future? If you think your company is a good business it might be worth holding onto the shares for a while as they could go up in value. It's worth looking at the recent share price history to see if they are steadily rising, stagnant or in decline. If you are set on selling your shares you should talk to your company as occasionally free share dealing is available. Oh and don't forget you don't have to sell them all. You could get the best of both worlds by selling half and keeping half. Here's a website that I have used that you might find useful. www.everyinvestor.co.uk/comparison-tables/stockbrokers

Do you get the shares at a discounted rate, (I worked for a pharma company who gave a buy 1 get one free offer). If that is the case you are very unlikely to loose money. If you keep them for over 5 years (I think) from the issue date, you can cash them in tax free, (before that the government will want some of your pie). You will still have to pay brokerage fees whenever you cash them in.

got the shares via sharesave scheme at work, quite a lot, hoping to sell half of them to pay of my small-ish mortgage and keep the rest to see if they go up more. thanks for the link.
