One of the best Labour politicians of recent times imo. Wonder if he is in this Christmas episode of Gavin & Stacey? RIP

Best known for bizarrely having to apologise to 'Conference' for giving his diary secretary a good Yorkshire biffing.
Quite a character, will be missed.
RIP Johnny 2 Jags.

Not perfect - none of us are - but I had a lot of time for Prescott.
There’s certainly a lack of politicians of his magnitude these days.
RIP x

RIP, a true political character, un-airbrushed for the media, a dying breed
Popped into Milton Chippy for a Channel 5 celebrity barge trip
As John would often say himself, he knew how to connect with the voters, especially the Welsh farmers

He had something about him that most politicians don’t. I remember his appearance on Top Gear fondly.

What a true Labour politician (and leader should be) - a working class Northern bloke made good.
RIP Prezza.

Sad news...shame he didn't stick to his Socialist principles, sadly one of many who were corrupted by power. At least he wasn't fickle enough to fall for the corbyn smears and was one of the few notable MPs who called it out. RIP John

I just felt his appointment to DPM was part of a move to keep him on a yoke.

Normal bloke who had a proper job before politics. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but more relatable and trustworthy than the current shower.
I recall his less than flattering assessment of why Cherie Blair was late for an event I was working at …..words to the effect of “she’s probably having a shit”…..made me chuckle.
