Only because of our first past the post system. I think getting more votes than any other party helped them a lot as well. As we know, reform split the Tory vote, there could have been parties joining forces in another type of system.

I think right now with only 120 Tory MP's the job is to get attention.
In the words on Bob Dylan 'you can be beautiful or you can be ugly, but you can't be plain'!

If these two are the best leaders that our political system can produce we are truly in serious shit as a country.

So terrible that people voted them in! Only because of our first past the post system. Labour received between 2-3 million votes more than their nearest rivals mate

Maybe. But there is not necessarily a direct correlation between the voting behaviours of one set people in one voting system and another. If people are voting according to a binary choice in a constituency, they won't necessarily vote the same way if they're suddenly given a whole portfolio of options to choose from under. Whichever PR system you implement also has an influence on voting behaviour.

Yes. Of course she is out of her depth but give her time. Anyone who steps up to a role that is slightly alien to them, can't do it overnight and will look inept at first. But I've heard her speak a lot on various subjects, and comes across as a grounded individual. I don't get the straight off hate for her. Think she sounds more human than many politicians do. Do you agree with her that autistic children shouldn’t get any different treatment in school then? No but it wasn't her that wrote that was it. She did put her name to the literature though. I was more pissed off at her saying that the parties at Downing Street were no big deal. I know what side of the bed she sleeps on but as a politician, she comes across to me as someone who seems more honest than not. No matter what here personal policies may be. And so ,for the Tories I think she is a decent, if inexperienced candidate.
