King Charles III and Prince William have been reported to profit from the NHS and public services through their private estates, the Duchy of Lancaster (controlled by King Charles III) and the Duchy of Cornwall (controlled by Prince William). These estates generate significant income by leasing land and properties to public services, including the NHS, military, and state schools. For example, the Duchy of Lancaster agreed to a deal to store a new fleet of electric ambulances for Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust, costing £11.4 million over 15 years. The Duchy of Cornwall has also charged the navy more than £1 million since 2004 to build and use jetties on the Cornish coastline. You also pay the Kind when you cross the River Mersey. Surely this raises questions about the ethics and transparency of the Monarchy as an institution, especially given the public nature of the services involved. Feel free to sign the petition against this, here - Tell the Royals: stop profiting from public services and charities!
