A molehill has appeared in my garden overnight. First time ever. I dispersed the soil and flattened it back into the ground and then, bugger me, but it came back, same place, when I was out shopping. Reminds me of the Jasper Carrot sketch but what on Earth (geddit?) can I do apart from something mucky, nasty and fatal for Mr Mole? Where’s Hartshill Badger and his mates when you need him?

Same here. Loads of em. Only thing I've found is where we've got Euphorbia lathyris - Mole Plant they tend to steer clear. Problem is you need plants to cover an area (not good in a lawn?) and you need to be careful as the leaves and roots are toxic(skin rash on humans).

For those who don’t know, there’s only one way to get rid of a mole……

Leave em alone and have some respect you nasty man Well I was asking for advice that wouldn’t result in a horrible death for them. Anyway, badgers dig up moles and eat them, so don’t go all pot and kettle on me! For now I’m working on a peaceful solution: (1) disperse the molehill soil - apparently it makes for good compost (2) rake over the flattened hill, mixing in old coffee grounds - apparently, Mr Mole doesn’t like coffee and will avoid coming up into coffee-infused soil. If you can apply more coffee grounds into the area where you think the tunnels are, this will dissuade them from coming up in other places as well. If this works I’ll be happy, living in peace with my underground friends.
