I don't believe that is the rule. Is it not the case that if you make no attempt to play the ball it should still be a red? Also, if you are correct presumably he got a yellow? Yea I think you're right actually to be fair. Like a saddo I've Googled it and found this: 'Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.' Definitely applies to Batth challenge I think. Wasn't really bothered in the circumstances but I thought the ref let of a lot of challenges from Blackburn tonight early on. Hate the lack of consistency

I’ll be honest, I’ve had my fill of ‘build from the back’. Quite entertaining for me to see a team where scoring 1 goal is seen as a disappointment. Hopefully we can maintain that and find some way to lower the shots against as time progresses. Still far too early for any kind of judgement on Pelach really, but since the Hull match I’m struggling to find too much too grumble with on a purely results basis. It does feel that the focus is more on making sure we score enough goals though. And for me surely that’s got to be the best way of ever competing for a promotion, rather than hoping to grind our way up with 5 at the back being used as the plan any time we face a half decent team. It’s quite a good start by him all things considered, win on Saturday and it’ll be bordering on a very good start. I keep saying we at least look we’re going to score when we play. We create chances and should create even more than we do with the areas we get into. Tonight was probably a bit (very) lucky but when you score two goals you give yourself a chance to win any game. We’ve had it happen to us countless times the other way.

Why wasn't the Batth challenge a red card? Because it's been the rule for about 5 seasons now that you can't be sent off and give a penalty away (unless it's serious foul play). Well it happened last night in our U21 game at FGR. BM

If we’d lost tonight (yes I know, if my uncle had tits he’d be my aunt) we’d be level on points with 22nd.
What a mad league.

I'm happy, don't get me wrong, but we simply can't ship 20 shots per game and expect to get anything out of games. If it was a one off ok, but it’s every game at the moment. Derby had 9 shots on Saturday, 3 on target, only one of which really caused Vik any problem.

Also, they had loads of shots from long or medium range. Think we both had the same in target. Clear cut opportunities tonight, I rate they had one more than us, two at best. Vic made 3 or 4 great saves from range, 2 from real clear cut chances and they missed 2 sitters. We scored two and missed two sitters.

Not taking anything away from Viktor who made some very good saves.

Just back brilliant result , poor first half and could have been out of it But , credit to the organisation and spirit we went in level , second half much better , others will take their chances better than Blackburn for sure but a fantastic result and the weeks target already in the bank.

Take the win but my God we can't defend for toffee (apart from the keeper) We defended very well A team that concedes the amount of chances as we do aren't defending well. Don't let the scoreline fool you.

We set up in a completely defensive shape where it should be hard for the opposition to create chances, and it isn’t whatsoever. And 3 weeks ago, some of those chances would have gone in. The change isn't all down to Viktor. We're not there yet, but we're going in a direction, rather than wibbling about all over the place.

Our defenders defending the box is getting better in my opinion Its the coaches tactics that our midfield is struggling with not our defenders. The shots blackburn had last night was crazy and we stopped them scoring....admittedly our keeper was a big part of that but the defence earned their corn for me

Every team gets mugged at home now and again. It’s happened to us enough times; didn’t Millwall do us over last season? I used to get very pissed off at dominating possession and then going a goal down because the other team had one decent chance and we couldn’t seem to get it in the net. But it comes down to getting your shots on target and scoring more goals than the opposition. We were more or less equal to Blackburn at the former and beat them on the significant latter.

But, great 3 points!

But, great 3 points! That's it in a nutshell. We're still too easy to play through and still find it harder than it should be to play through the opposition ourselves. Still too reticent to turn and advance 10 yards after receiving the ball facing their own goal, and when they do it, often choosing the 1 ball in 10 where they don't have the time or space. Considering the amount of possession they had in our half we restricted them, if memory serves to 3 chances where the odds looked like they would be in their favour to score. 1 was the incredible close range save from Johansson, 1 from Weimann shooting across goal, Johansson saves well but Weimann probably should have done better, it was a savable height, and the real sitter Gueye headed it into the ground and over from 2 yards out. Could be missing one more? Their other chances came from range, where previously we have not been able to frustrate teams into shooting from distance we were able to today. Going the other was million missed his two best chances, both of which you feel should have been scored. I sort of disagree on the wide defending, until the last ten minutes i didn't think we allowed too many crosses to come in from really dangerous areas. Grayson on co comms kept going on about how their wingbacks were usually more of a threat but they rarely managed to get an overlap on us. I think because the wide players didn't get sucked into tracking back and then staying too deep. Junho in particular must have covered and unreal distance getting back up the pitch, often with little reward.

Great away day last night. At ht I had a feeling that we would nick it with Vik saving everything that went near to him.
Great finish by Manhoef & very well played by Bae for the penalty.
On another day Blackburn will score 4+ playing like that. We had a brick wall between the sticks who refused to be beaten… The shot by Dolan was heading for the top corner until Vik’s hand came out of nowhere to save it. Unbelievable save.
The away end was bouncing, UTMP 👍

We tend to forget about games fairly quickly.
I won't forget this match though because it was the best goalkeeping I've EVER seen and I go back to the 70's
