He is more than good enough for Liverpool ability wise. For an 18 year old he's as good as it gets. Wayne Rooney disagrees 😉 Of course mate. Rooney is a once in a lifetime player for me. Just if you were to line up every 18 year old in the country now. There aren't many infront of Koumas. Hes easily high-level prem standard. I think you have to mark him up significantly playing in our shower of shit as well. It would be the easiest set up in the world for a 18 year old get lost in. But he's the best player for me. I bet Liverpool are gutted he isn't playing for Sunderland with Rigg and Bellingham. I can see him going there in Jan 100%.

You don’t think they’ll be happy with him playing every single week? Playing well for the most part? It doesn’t happen for most loans in the championship. It's not just about game time mate. Development has a huge part to play, with coaching that will improve his game. My hunch is that Liverpool will be playing strong attention to a bit of everything, but will be pleased to see him facing adversity and coming through it well. Part of a loan is to get out of the environment where everything is “nice” and seeing what the player is actually made of and get a judgement on their character. It seems Koumas is made of strong stuff because his performances have been really good despite the environment being a challenge. He’s willing to mix it physically and is being put into meaningful matches in a variety of roles. Do Liverpool know more about him now than they did in August? Yes. Has Koumas improved as a footballer? Yes. Will he have a greater sale value now than August just gone? Yes.

He is going to be one of the best players in the Premier League when he hits his peak. He’s better than most of our players already, if not all of them in terms of ability and even physicality. He’s already more than strong enough and fast enough and he’s got a few more years of physical development to come.
He just needs to learn about how to get the best out of himself, he’s overly keen at the moment and chases things at 100mph when he doesn’t need to.

When you loan out a youngster, to see them getting regular game time week after week in a competitive league is worth it’s weight in gold. What would be the point of recalling him and loaning him out to Leeds, PSV, Stuttgart, Ipswich or someone else a step up for him to spend half of his time out of the team? Hes our best player if you ask me. Liverpool are more likely to get concerned we're flogging him to death by over using him if anything.. Agree - I wouldn't be impressed overplaying him at this age if I were them.

Agree - I wouldn't be impressed overplaying him at this age if I were them. Aye its a big ask for a teenager in the championship to be playing most games. But from a selfish point of view I say do it because he looks like our best player for my money. One can never guarantee it of course but he has a very bright future at the top end of the game based on what I'm seeing..

Ben Doak also 18 on loan from Liverpool at Boro is just as good, I think. They've got some talent there!

More chance of buying Harry kane in Jan. Knowing Harry's luck, he'll come to Stoke and it will be the one spell in our modern history that we go down to the third division and don't win the Autoglass Trophy.

Playing in this current team will do him no favours and there were representatives from Liverpool there tonight to assess his overall performance. I questioned this earlier on in the season. Moran & Koumas have come from parent clubs that flourish in youth development at the highest level. It'll be no surprise when these clubs and others refuse to loan out their young talents to us that could hamper their development. Nothing is guaranteed in football, but if there's one club certain to knock any degree of potential out of a player, it's ours. Are you referring to the 2 players who both scored the other night? (Yes I know the Moran one ended up being an own goal but he got there and was excellent overall) The youths who have come in are gaining loads of experience to develop and have been decent. For anyone to say clubs won't want to send their youth players to us is utter tripe as we are going through a period of playing some of our youngest squads ever. Just beucase we're not very good as a whole doesn't mean individually these loans don't get a chance to earn their experience and grow their talents, if anything the adversity gives them character.

I'd honestly would rather spend £5M on Koumas than Cannon to get a player in permanently if I was the manager!

Is there any chance of us signing the lad permanently, or is he too good for Liverpool to let him go. If people think Cannon is worth 10m, then what price Koumas? He's not too good for Liverpool but he's way too good for us. Lord knows what that substitution was all about ... He asked if he was too good for Liverpool to let him go?
