Today's Ref

Given that it seems almost compulsory on here to slate every Ref we have, can I just say that I thought today's was excellent- let the game flow, wasn't whistle-happy ( first foul given at a staggering 21 minutes in ) and only 1 ( I think ) yellow card

Best ref we’ve had for ages. Let the game flow and allowed more than a few crunching tackles without blowing up. Thought he was fair to both sides

Said this throughout the game today. Norwich tried their theatrics in the first half a couple of times which he didn’t even bother to wave away, just let the game go on.

Makes a change having a decent ref for once!

Yeah have to say I was pleasantly surprised that we had a referee that was genuinely decent (sad that it’s so rare)
Let a few robust challenges go from both teams and rightly so. Very refreshing and credit to him 👍

Can't remember who it was this season where every time they were under pressure, the player literally leaned in and went down. Ref bought it all game . Possibly Oxford

They tried it a couple of times today and the ref was having none of it it.

He was in the technical area when Pelach was already there (only 1 is allowed there which I didn't know)

A little bit fussy but very good ref today

He was excellent - he didn't actually blow for a foul till 20 minutes!!!

The Ref had a very good game and I remarked on it during the game.

Having said that I was curious about one incident which I did not really understand.

At one point he held up the game and made a point of going to and telling/ asking the ball boy to move from where he was quietly sitting to a position of only 4/5 yards away from where he was sat.??

Apart from that he was excellent. If you think I am being pedantic that is exactly my point.

Was very confusing that little episode was. Just not sure what the issue was 🤔🙄😬!

I Liked the way the ref was happy for the game to restart when Norwich were hoping to delay the free kick to make a sub for the player who had gone off injured. They'd had plenty of time to ready the replacement but hadn't done it quick enough. Was a little bit picky by making said free kick be retaken due to either moving ball, or taken from the wrong location but I won't be too picky on this as others have documented, he did have a refreshingly good all round match 👏🏻 ..

Well done ref and not forgetting his assistants who also seemed to have a spot on match also. Definitely nothing majorly controversial missed or given, can't ask for more than that.
