I wonder how this equates nowadays with inflationš¤ The Bank of England inflation calculator shows the top price match ticket of Ā£2 equates to Ā£15.10 today which shows football inflation has far outstripped general price rises.

So a season ticket for the best seats in the house cost less than is now being asked for a couple of hours in the dubious delights of Bramhall Lane. I feel old (again).

A season ticket for the best seats in the house cost the equivalent of Ā£229 when adjusted for inflation, roughly half of what it does today.

I wonder how this equates nowadays with inflationš¤ Ā£30 in 1975 is equivalent in purchasing power to about Ā£315.59 in 2024. Not that I'm a financial brainbox but it can be found here -> What is it worth now?Gouranga.

Fascinating bit of information especially as me and my dad had season tickets in the Boothen Stand in either 74/75 or75/76. Really canāt remember which year.
My dad had stood on the Boothen End from the early 50ās (same position) and indoctrinated around 1960, I witnessed the return of Stan.
In Boothen Stand we had excellent seats, half way up and about a dozen seats from the Directors Box on the Stoke the end side of the ground. In later years Big Bren used to sit next to me for quite some time. A lovely guy who I always remember hen educated once (whilst watching) about the quality of Howard Kendall as a player.
The pricing of the match day games and STās for the both the Boothen and Boothen Stand is unimaginable.
Slightly off topic
Still a ST Holder to this day 50 or 51 consecutive years, Boothen Stand now to the Lower Tier of the Franklyn Stand. Tony Tams well known for his service to SCFC and a true gentleman who recently passed took me to the Brit when it was under construction and we stood where my seat is to this day.
Memories!!!
