He did alright tonight.
Thought their left winger was probably their only threat and got the better of him a bit too much but generally Wilmot did enough.
Second half he didn’t have a sniff.

I was a bit nervous when Junior came on, at 6-1 up. Make of that what you will.

The threat of one of his Marc Wilson-esque once a game brain farts are negated somewhat by shoving him out to RB because he can just twat the ball out for a throw in rather than fall over it on the penalty spot or hack an opposition striker down with all the finesse of the North Tower when the second plane smashed into it.

He played a few games under MoN at RB and did fine so I'm not surprised he's an improvement there considering how bad Tchamadeu has been lately.

I did think early in the second half that I hadn't thought "What the fucking hell was that Wilmot?" so tonight was an improvement and must mean he played alright by quietly going about his job.
I've always wondered if it was worth giving him a run at RB because I don't rate him at all as a CB. He isn't good enough on the ball to play CM either so RB was the only position left that made some kind of sense.

I have criticised him before so it’s only fair he gets praise when he plays well. He was fantastic tonight, he didn’t put a foot wrong.
Thats a performance I can get behind.

Did well today and for me is a better RB than CB as he’s not commanding enough to be a CB. Good to see 2 players today at fullback that prioritised defending and whose positioning was decent.

Have to give praise when it’s due and that was a decent performance.
I don’t to hear any talk of him being right back long term though. I think it was easy to be impressed by any half decent performance just because Junior has been so shit this season.

Been our best defender by a mile so far this season. Will make mistakes in possession as we ask him to pass aggressively but all round significantly better than the rest

Thought he did really well. Read the game and intercepted a few times. Good in the tackle, decent distribution. If we are defending narrow out of possession it’ll suit Wilmot more than Junior, allows us to go to a back three in possession too.

Played well but he's going to get rinsed for pace by any fast winger.
We desperately need to upgrade in that position.

I was a bit nervous when Junior came on, at 6-1 up. Make of that what you will. Despite showing early promise when he 1st arrived from Colchester, he looks more like an athlete than a footballer.

The January window may see Narcis look at the right back spot. Stevens was excellent too and Bocat worries me longer term.
