It was the last time I maintained an erection. Can't remember when it was exactly, I'll have to ask my Uncle Jim.

When was the last time we were 6.- 1 up with 37 minutes plus injury time to go?
Remarkable 👍

It was def Paul Maguire in our 4 - 0 win against Wolves, a game that kept us up and was his last game for the club. The following season was not so good …….

Sadly, he’s a Leicester player we have on loan.
If we don’t go up and he carries on like this, no chance that he is playing in Championship next season.
Enjoy it whilst it lasts!

Yes it was Thorney v Chesterfield. March 2000. Division 2 . 5-1. Other goalscorer was Anders Jacobsen 90mins.
But the Paul Maguire 4 goals were more memorable because
1 They kept us up in the First Division.1983/84 .Last game of the season..
2 They sent Wolves and Andy Gray down. Wolves were already down on 29 points .
3 Glassback Maguire never played for us again..Typical Stoke..

After further research the previous 4 goal men were
1965/66 Northampton Town at home. Div 1 would you believe. 6-2 .John Ritchie
1964/65 Sheff Wed at home .Div 1 . 4-1 .John Ritchie again..

Paul McGuire v Wolves I think 😆 We needed to win to stay up and won 4-0. Wolves went down to Div 2. The next year they dropped to Div 3 and the year after that they went down to Div 4.

So Coleman (7) in 56/57, Ritchie twice in the 60s, Maguire '84, Thorney '00, Cannon. Is that all of them post-war?
