I’ve always wondered how people make money from football ownership. It always seems like a money pit that attracts those with money to lose. Surely there are more attractive options for those characters other than Derby?

Surely there are more attractive options for those characters other than Derby? Listening to Talk-sport the other morning & Simon Jordan answered that question. He said that prospective owners are aware that there is no money in owning a football club, just for the football. He said that along with ownership comes, for example, access to the names & addresses of many thousands of Season Card owners, suppliers, traders etc. This is information that can be used in various ways, as well as being sold!

Weird that he has said that and then in the recent news Bristol city and Sheffield Wednesday have both been cyber hacked for exactly that purpose.
