We made some awful signings in 2017- 2018, including Berahino, Jesé Ndiaye, Imbula Afobe etc, but this fella may just have been the worst.
I don’t think Hughes recovered from the shock of spending all that money on someone who so clearly had so little talent or desire to be a decent footballer.
I’m glad his team were embarrassed by a second rate outfit like Celtic.
He was at best a third rate football player.

Pound for pound (pun very much intended) I think he’s the worst signing we’ve ever made. Just looking at the ones you’ve listed there’s at least one small positive. Jese winner vs Arsenal, Imbula unplayable in two games.. Berahino did look sharp for a spell. Wimmer was our record signing, played zero significant part and when he did play I think most people would have preferred Sonko or Paul Williams marshalling things at the back. Then the final tone-deaf insult of jollying around on the Wembley pitch and posting social media love hearts for his Spurs bffs after they’d just dry bummed us. What a cunt |

Wolly had a lot of stick that was very unjustified in some cases. A cup game against Liverpool one of his best displays?  As for Wimmer, those post match theatricals at Wembley prancing with his Tottenham friends was the death knell for a signing we didnt need at a price which should have been investigated for fraud! |
