I haven't watched this but it's not particularly relevant as Pelach hasn't been appointed Stoke City (First Team) Manager..has he?

JC looks like he needs a Wrights pie (or two) He can have mine from Tuesday night. I left it under my seat - it was too hot.

You never achieve anything by playing it safe and not challenging yourself. Personally, football or anything you can think of. Gambling with the club? Nothing like over egging a situation. So no chance we're going down then? Was there no chance we were going down before? Did you watch Oxford. We took 6 points out of 15. Cov we caught on a bad day is my view right now, maybe they turn out to be shit, who knows. Either way, it was ok, bit of heart to it, good win. Watford was abject. West Brom, felt like they just held us at arms length when they had the lead. Coulda woulda shoulda type of game. Plymouth, good in spells but made pretty hard work of beating a terrible team with a truly terrible manager. Oxford again abject. Not like it’s just shuey over the last few years but zero answer when we go behind and not really creating enough clear cut chances when we’re on top. A recipe for another struggle. Will it be any different now. Fuck knows but I don’t feel our chances of going down have changed at all.

I really like that attitude I think this is going to be spectacular on either end of the spectrum. We’re either gonna fly or implode like fuck. Gotta admire his cahones, I think the young lads might be really motivated by this guy

Has anyone found a way to read sentinel articles? Like the adverts have made it so it’s literally the last source of information I’d use about us, and that’s with Pete Smith being an excellent writer too. So not just me then!!! Hate reading anything on the sentinel. Adverts have destroyed it. Even if you wait for everything you think to load you get quarter way down and the page crashes. Obviously they need adverts for revenue but don’t the dipshites understand no one will read them and stop using because it’s unreadable on mobile devices! If you have an iPhone/ipad put it in reading mode. No adverts

In which it's rumoured that the captain downed tools? And I really hate this line of listing of games as "reasoning". Your bias is so thick you could walk to the Orkneys on it. It's 5 fucking games! Way too early to tell. We'll see how it goes, but if you think we had a bigger chance of going down under Schuey than Pelach you're deluded. As someone above said, NP could go spectacularly, either way. Under Schuey we made steady progress. I prefer the latter.

There were a few games last season too. Did I feel we would go down under Shuey, not really, but if your captain downs tools as you say, the chances are not fucking zero are they? I simply wasn’t bowled over by what Schumacher put out on the pitch, I found the lack of consistency of performance concerning. All teams lose games, but a better than average championship team doesn’t produce performances like Oxford away, and certainly doesn’t do it twice in 5 games. In addition the gooch selections were clear signs of early onset Stoke Managerial Meltdown Syndrome.

Which have included a club in chaos most of the time. If your captain downs tools you bench him and get rid. But when the captain has the directors ear, well you know who I'm blaming. This reeks of player power to me. And we haven't been a better tham average Championship team since 2007. I still don't think we are. We have a team of kids who'll be wildly inconsistent, so twice in five games isn't unheard of. Even Leicester had a run of poor games last year. Even Soton was beaten by us. If you think we'll stroll the league you're mad. And of course we could've gone down under SS. Key player injuries like Johansson, Bocat or Moran, or even Gibson could see us go down no matter the head giving coach. I think the chance is bigger with NP, as he's a complete unknown gamble. Or we could get better. But that could've happened under SS as well.

I suppose it’s similar to how I felt about Neil, it’s not like we’re ever coming out of a loss feeling like we were unlucky. The way it looks when we lose are exactly the same, they simply don’t look like they know what the plan is. I just feel like a bad run of those performances is more likely than us stringing 4/5 good ones together. And in that basis I already felt like we were probably going to be in a scrap again. It’s not as though I’m massively pro the appointment but certainly less anti the sacking. The one thing I do like about the appointment is if it works great, we have a good manager and a good/lucky director of football, if it doesn’t then we’ll get rid of a bad manager and a bad director of football real quick.

Why anger for Walters if it all works out well? For gambling with the club. So you'd still be angry with Walters if it all worked out well?

Speaks very well but I’ve been here before where I get excited by what the manager/head coach says. I’m sure he will get the backing of the crowd initially but it will be interesting to see how the players react to a young manager without top level playing experience. I really hope the gamble pays off but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/worked-closely-narcis-pelach-stoke-9568326"He was managing in Spain," Corberan recalled, as he explained their meeting. "When I was working in Leeds I met him, because he was at Girona as an assistant coach - before that he'd been coaching Girona's second team. Now everyone knows Girona, because they're in the Champions League, but before it was different! He was coaching their second team. "He has been coaching since he has been young, probably he was coaching players who were older than him. I met him when I was at Leeds because he finished with Girona and came to meet Marcelo Bielsa. We started to have personal contact, and from this time, for months we were talking about football and doing things together, in terms of football conversations. "I decided to add him to my staff at Huddersfield, in that moment he didn't have a job and the opportunity with Huddersfield came. We worked for two years there, and I enjoyed working with him a lot. After, when my time in Huddersfield was ending, we finished our working relationship - not our personal relationship, because when you work with staff and work well, you keep a very strong relationship. "I am very pleased for him. He is a very good coach, you will see. For me, Stoke has made a very good decision. When you make these decisions [employing Pelach at Huddersfield], it works both ways. You grow together. When you are working for one year, two years, you give things to them and them to you. Football is demanding, we worked closely together and I had a very good football experience with him."

But that 1.41 PPG is one way to judge if it was indeed good move by the board or not.

The more I see and read about this guy,the more excited and optimistic I feel. A massive call from Walters, but as that Hull lad says, the stale appointments of yesteryear haven’t worked and you could see SS going down that well worn path. He’s definitely got the right pedigree and obviously knows his onions, let’s just hope he can put it into practice with us.

Agree but I saw no buds of promise v Oxford which should have been there after 5 league games, 2 Cup games and a full pre season with the manager. Half the team didn't look as if they knew what their role was or where they were supposed to be looking to play the ball which resulted in the old habit of CHs playing keep ball between themselves. Presumably Junho had been marked as a central AM this season and, I know he missed pre season, but surely he could have sat with a coach up in the stands watching the games he missed, looking at what the role should look like, what he was expected to do in different situations. . The poor lad hadn't got a clue in his first game back and his confidence dipped. Then instead of keeping him there to gain more experience we switched him back wide and played a wing back in his role until moving him back centrally and then taking him off. Such poor man management whatever your views on Bae's value to the team. The big problem for me, despite wanting to keep Schumacher was that already at the beginning of September I had the feeling that we would be hovering mid table again. I should still be full of optimism after only a month of the season.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-hull-narcis-pelach-9567477Two Premier League clubs tried to lure Narcis Pelach into their coaching set-ups this summer, says Jon Walters, as he takes charge of his first game at Stoke City. “I’ve known about Narcis for a long time – he will probably be surprised how long. I’ve known him from Girona and people who speak of him very well, including Bojan and Muni, who are just two small references. Then coming over, following Pep and Bielsa for a while and Corberan taking him to Huddersfield and working with different coaches there. I know what players say about him there and what players say about him at Norwich, how he demands things and puts identity into his coaching set-up. “From other people outside the game I know that two Premier League clubs tried to take him over the summer as a number two, I know managers at European clubs, big European clubs wanted to take him. There is a lot I know about him! It’s an exciting young head coach who speaks well and has to back that up on the pitch and deliver something that we can get excited about.”
