I know it's a long season, going be a lot of ups and downs.
But can't help but feel some sense of pride around the club again atm, by all accounts the youngest side in our history, finally ditched the tried and tested methods that have left us in the shit.
We're getting massive pay backs from the money we've pumped into the academy and with the talent were producing currently that's likely to keep on increasing.
Youngest side in the division? and lot's of them will play in the prem with(hopefully) or without us.
Small steps in the right direction.

Exactly, fans need to thoroughly get behind these young lads and manager. They are a breath of fresh air. Just try and enjoy the season. Most of the journeymen plodders have been replaced by young energetic enthusiastic players. Might be bumps along the way but product will be so much better to watch

Hoping that the majority of our fans can see what we’re trying to do and not freak out if/when we go on any type of losing run. As long as we don’t get relegated or are in any danger of it then I’m just going to watch the games and enjoy seeing the ambition of a young coach and young players having a go whilst playing exciting football.
The last how ever many seasons have been utter dross with a team full of tossers that seem to think they’re better than what they are. Consistently finishing lower mid table in the championship has been embarrassing and frustrating with how much money we’ve spent and the expectation I’ve personally had that we would have made the playoffs at least once in that time.
I enjoyed the last few games of last season and can really feel that there is a massive shift in our set up which has led to being quietly optimistic for this season

Good post.
Wouldn’t say proud yet, but there is 100% a different mood than previous seasons. Optimism for one and feeling like the club has a plan for once which most the fans can see and be on board with.
Lets hope this is the start of something very special

Lots of ups and downs ahead because of the young team. Hope us fans will be patient and keep of the players backs if we'll hit a bad patch. They need our support throughout the season.

Fans have certainly changed since our era. I loved the 70s. Through the 80 and 9os not going the match because we were shite most of the time would never enter my mind.

Still need results don’t we though?
I’m confident we will get them too but if we are flirting with relegation again people will be rightfully annoyed.

Think as fans we must realise they're young lads, and booing could be even more detrimental to them if we do go on a bit of a bad run.
I think booing is counter productive at the best of times, although some of the shit we have been served up since we come down has warranted it.
Just think were going have to be a bit more lieniant with a group of players that are heavily made up with teenagers

Too early to be proud but certainly hopeful. I just read an article about Sol on FLW and felt so proud of the club reading it. Nothing new in it just felt more significant as it wasn't in the Sentinel but an outside agency.

I wonder if traffic on here is higher when we're bad or good. 100% when we're bad but that's just the nature of the beast I think. It's far easier to come on here and vent frustrations and have a moan when we're doing shit as you'd naturally have more to say.

I actually think that us Stokies are a pretty easy crowd to please (barring a few on here....) We can honestly put up with anything as long as we see someone giving their all and showing some pride and "pashun"

It does feel like there is a vision at the club to take us forwards. The West Brom performance appears to have been a catalyst for change.

Always PROUD, ever hopeful is my mantra.
The original post is about optimism and a new exciting way forward.
I honestly believe this is where we’re at, a new beginning with younger fresher faces.
Bumps in the road - yes a plenty but as long as we’re showing real and sustained progress that’s good enough for me.

This is the most optimistic I’ve felt since the excellent start to the 21-22 season. Hopefully we come out of the international break looking stronger.

We look like we have a squad built for the future so that's something to be positive about. We have a very young group of players who could naively be on the end of a thrashing or 2 but we should expect them to grow as a team over the season, they will get better with more 1st team experience. If they start building some confidence then this team could go anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if we started tearing teams apart at some point this season, we have some quality as well as youth in this squad.
The fans have literally got what they want more or less and hopefully this is the reset where we can actually start moving forward. Schumacher has cleared out the majority of players the fans wanted to go and kept the ones we wanted to stay and replaced the ones that left with young players with lots of potential, they might not all work out and we may still need a bit of fine tuning still but it's exciting.
