Serious question.
For me, he offers nothing. He goes missing for large periods, and often takes the easy way out (drops deep and plays a simple 6 yard pass back etc).
Hes never looking to have a positive impact on the game. Its almost cowardly at times.
All the others on the field you can argue what you want - good, bad, indifferent.
But Laurent is just a nothing player. We need somebody who can put their stamp on the game.
And don't even get me started on Baker's cameo in midfield. If that wasn't a two fingered salute to the club and the fans as a final farewell, then I'll eat my hat. He was basically just booting the ball away and making no effort whatsoever. Disgraceful.
There's a big week ahead. We need to root out some very bad apples, and get 2 or 3 key players in. Or another relagation battle will be on our hands. Simple as that.
Thank the lord for Koumas. A little green shoot of positivity in a field of shit.

Nothing. He's crap. 4 decent games a season. Him and Thompson is a relegation 'engine room'.
Negligent how both are still here.

He walked through the first half, and most of the second, what is the manager seeing? As for Baker, that shot from his own half was beyond pathetic, the keeper wasn't out of position at all. Its a mess, thats a fact. There are really good players in that squad, all thats missing is a decent manager. Three games, we look worse if anything that last season.

He has all the attributes to be a top player in this division yet he constantly produces mediocre performances where he looks disinterested. Why anyone would play him every week is beyond belief. He should have been the first out of the door

Useless fanny and always has been.

A little green shoot of positivity in a field of shit. And yet the manager picks him every game. He seems undropable unlike Burger who loses his place after a couple of bad games. A midfield including Thompson and Laurent offers next to nothing going forwards (and no goals) and not much more defensively if the last 2 games are anything to go by.

He's fucking toss, but he's in good company along with Gooch, Ennis and Mmaae.

Why set a precedent by getting rid of Campbell and not the rest of the dead wood? Wilmot, Laurent, Thompson. All League 1.
Add Gooch to that list.

I watch Lauren closely every game because I'm absolutely baffled how he keeps getting picked in our starting eleven, he strolls around for most of the game with next to no involvement in what is going on around him. An absolute powder puff of a player always looking for the easy pass usually back or sideways. We should take the first offer we get for him.

Overhyped and turns up one game in 10 if that. Reactive and slow in possession, goes missing when the going gets tough and doesn't offer any impetus at all. How he keeps getting picked over Burger is laughable. It's a shame as he does have the ability and physicality when he's on it to be a top player at this level, but his attitude and desire is lacking. Judging on the incident after we lost at Plymouth last season he's a mercenary too!
In all, just another waster, who is probably one of our higher earners and needs moving on asap, along with Mmaee, Wilmot and Johnson - why we didn't bite when the Italian side last season or Brum and the Turkish Club this summer came in for him is baffling.

Mowatt and Molumby showed what you want from your two midfielders. Horrible pair of fuckers who make sure they win every duel but with the quality to keep the ball and get it further up pitch to their creative players.
You’ll struggle to find a poorer midfield in this league than Laurent and Thompson.

You’ll struggle to find a poorer midfield in this league than Laurent and Thompson. We all know Thompson (like Gooch) is limited at this level, but he's versatile and a solid pro who's handy to have around as a squad player, coming in for 10-15 games a season plus a few sub appearances off the bench to shore up a bit if we are on back foot/trying to close out a game. The fact that he's seen as a bona fide starter is concerning in itself. As for Laurent, I've covered it above but he just seems like a lazy waster.

No urgency, power or quality in the midfield and that is seriously worrying. Neither Thompson or Laurent are good enough, they generally lose 50/50 balls and whilst Thompson is fairly near and tidy he is limited by his total one-footed approach. Laurent is shocking, when he is referred to as “powerful” that is only if he breaks into space and then it is 50/50 if he can control the ball and take it with him and 50/50 again as to whether he finds a red and white striped shirt with any pass other than a five yard cop out ball. That midfield is absolutely shocking.

Watching him jogging around like it was a training match in the second half was infuriating.
He does nothing well. Mowatt was superb for them.

The ability to hide behind the pepper pot, Thomson hid behind the salt, but I thinks it’s actually confidence in the team and there shared expectations of what one another can do. Certainly not at a team, group or whatever is the current flavour of well a team. All young so there's time to improve but needs be quick, can’t leave it till June next year
