I'm struggling, Koumas maybe? Seemed a bright spark.
Somehow contrived to become collectively worse all over the pitch.
Signed a goalkeeper who doesn't look convincing whatsoever, defensively we look all over the place and offensively we've got no idea.
Relegation beckons. Beaten today by a side who looked like they didn't even get out of second gear.
Shambles.

We might be better when everyone is fit?
Even then whatever back 5 we put out concerns me.

Only Koumas who looked a proper player and with a bit of luck could have had a hat trick.

Only Koumas who looked a proper player and with a bit of luck could have had a hat trick. Definitely only Koumas from today but what a sad fact that he's not actually our player per-se & we've only borrowed him for the season. A young LFC fringe player is by head and shoulders our best player today & probably in the squad as a whole! Can't remember the last time we had a striker who scored and hit the post twice in a match, probably a Ric Fuller which again explains a lot with regards to how poor our front line have been in the Champo! Looking at the performance last week and today amd the squad available, I really am wondering if we're weaker than we were 12mths ago and that's a scary thought!

In same three fixtures last year we managed two points. So based on that we are already 50 per cent better than last season. 🙂
More seriously… Koumas, Bae and Million has the makings of a decent attacking unit if we can get a reliable striker to lead the line in this week.

We got totally bossed all over the pitch which is becoming a common theme very worrying. Total nonsense! Try to control your disappointment and get real! Koumas ran the Centre half ragged and had no luck at all. Total Control? Juhno was a thorn in Brom's side. There was in fact very little between the teams!

When you look at the team that started today it’s nowhere near our best however I’m not sure that the manager recognises that. Some are out injured others coming back from injury. This is my assessment
GK - Johansson (Not covered himself in glory. We need a number 2 to put pressure on him).
RB - We need a good solid RB. Junior has a lot to learn CB - Gibson. Decent at this level. CB - Phillips (we need his height at set pieces) LB - Stevens (Bocat hasn’t impressed me)
CM - Lawal (sounds like he’s excellent) CM - New or from Burger, Pearson. AM - Moran (would still like us to go for Cundle still)
LW - Bae (He’ll be fine once he gets his fitness) STR - Koumas (superb today but think we need alternatives) RW - Manhouf
So for me by next week we need
GK - number 2 to rival Johansson RB - starter CM - upgrade STR - cover for Koumas

Koumas for sure, but at this rate Liverpool will be recalling him to loan him back out to a proper club in January.
Ouch.

That was my thought today - 4 months of this and L’pool will be wanting the lad to get some experience of playing in a functioning side. He looked like he could be a real asset to a top half Championship club.

I’m sure it will be fine for now but the demoralising effect of our season going into its usual tailspin might be something they wish to avoid long term ! .....especially if it brings with it the usual coaching casualties.

Agree on the forward lines but their midfield and defence were always in control. It took a brilliant run and pass for us to score and even then the gk was apopletic with one of the centre halves. Nor did it surprise me that they scored straight after. I had the feeling all through the second half that they were strolling and would have lifted their game had we equalised.

Koumas is an arbitrary addition to the squad. If we can keep him here for a season he will be the star I'm sure. After that he will probably be sold By Liverpool (not to us).
We have some good players undoubtedly. I Don't believe for one nanosecond that our current coaching staff can make them into a successful team. Today was a shambles. 3 different formations with many players out of normal positions. Questions need asking urgently about the competency of our entire organisation from top to bottom.
The last few years have all but eroded any faith I have in Stoke City.

Looking at the performance last week and today amd the squad available, I really am wondering if we're weaker than we were 12mths ago and that's a scary thought! Half of the outfield starters today have less than a season’s worth of Championship games under their belt. The same applies to seven of the eight outfield players on the bench. Add in that individual performances, including our better players, were not up to scratch, meaning there was little chance of an imposing / effective collective performance. Despite all that, the near hatrick of Koumas emphasises how important forward players are to making any real progress in this league, especially without a real top notch defensive unit. To compare the experience of the line up for the first home game in the Championship in the 07/08 promotion season: Stoke: Simonsen, Wright (Buxton 33), Craddock, *Shawcross, Dickinson, Lawrence (Eustace 90), Matteo, Delap, Cresswell, Sidibe, Fuller (Parkin 74). Subs Not Used: Hoult, Pulis. Goals: Fuller 57, Parkin 78. We’re nowhere near that level of experience… * I suspect there’s little chance of any of the current inexperienced players playing 450 games here.

1. Far too early to pass judgement having played 3 of the top 8 sides with strong squads and looking for promotion.
2. The club has still not assembled the full squad and looking for a striker.
3. Unlike previous seasons we have a much younger and less experienced squad who are still learning and will get better with experience and mutual understanding between each other.
4. The manager is young and still learning.
5. We are in a marathon, not a sprint.
The club need fans support not criticism, it could get a lot tougher before things get better.
Criticism of the owners is misplaced. I can't think of any successful manager who attributed his success to the owners. In fact some of the most successful like Clough and Ramsay were a pain for their bosses!
The most successful British manager in modern times was Ferguson. He was ruthless with players and always very complimentary about all his assistants down the years. But even he was sacked early in his career and came within a whisker of losing his job at ManU in his first seasons.
I am happy to enjoy some attacking football for a change instead of all the negative side to side and back to the goalie and ending up losing anyway .
